parley view parsnip...

My Monday post about what is going on around my home...

While cleaning out some art boxes in the garage I found some old sketchbooks.
I don't always use my sketchbooks, except the one my talented bookmaker daughter made for me.
I usually draw on what ever paper is laying around.
Many of these books are not filled and several are damaged.
Here are a few of my California drawings and one watercolor from England
1992 to 1998

  1. Hello Gayle:
How very intriguing this is. Such attractive drawings and we very much like the watercolour of Longstock which, as it happens, we know!

    1. The watercolor is a favorite I had it in several home always on the night table. I really don't remember driving through Longstock. All my artwork and notebooks were burned in a fire so I think I drew this from a photo ?
How interesting that you have been there. Isn't the blog world wonderful.

  2. When I looked through them at first I guessed - wrongly - that the watercolour was Dorset.
They must be much more memorable than snaps - etched into your psyche whilst you are sketching them.

    1. It does help for me to write something or draw to remember.
I think I would have said Dorset too but I have only been to England twice and we drove everywhere. I had a great time.

  4. Nice sketchbook pages. Do you still find time to draw now?
It's a good day to stay inside and do some digging for sure!
I heard there was snow falling in Tucson.

    1. Yes I do find time to draw but I have been plagued by finishing cleaning the garage, studio and several closets and paper work so no drawing for me.
Two years ago there was a month of art project on the internet. My daughter joined and I participated but didn't join the site. I did post on my blog a few of my drawing.
Snow in the mountains hail where I lived.

  5. Okay, they are fantastic. I am a person that can barely manage a stick figure and am always in awe of those who can draw.
You should open a little Etsy shop and sell drawings and small paintings.
    I would buy one :)

    1. Thank You, What is so interesting is the drawing of Lake Mary... my x hired a boat to go out for a few hours and as we only had one car I sat in the charming parking lot parked under a tree and drew the mountain and trees. I remember it so well.
