Wednesday in Japan. . . a few more gifts

More fun and wonderful gifts from Japan.
............

A small in size but huge in flavor
Yuzu and Wasabi paste.
Love in a jar.
I use it with almost everything.
I am also thinking why not icecream ?
.

Yuzu is a very aromatic citrus fruit. Kind of like a sour Mandarin Orange.
Or a mix of Meyers lemon, lime and grapefruit.
.

Made with yuzu peel, wasabi, salt and and I think fermented ?
It also tastes spicy and somewhat "herby"
.

You can see how big the jar is.  Small but full of flavor.
.

Not a piggy bank but a cow bank !
.

The very kawaii slot to put the money in.
I assume you would have to use a can opener to open the bottom of the can.
.

Here is your mid week pretty.
.
Watson is napping and I am taking his photo
but....
.

... as you can see, someone must always be included
and
with doggie radar seem to match the same position.
Of course he is always between me and Watson.
Such a naughty thehamish.

parley view parsnip. . . tomatoes !

While most of The States are enveloped in the third polar vortex with temperatures below 0 degrees. I am pondering if I should finally pull out my tomato plants.
Yept, you read that right Tucson has two growing seasons.
Freezing temperatures are as far down as Florida ans it is warmer in Alaska than Chicago. But there in Tucson I think my tomato plants are on the last crop.
In Tucson we plant early and get our first crop in then let the tomato plants take the summer off, I swear they cook on the vine, then start up again when the temperatures drop below 100.

As you see they are looking ragged right now
but each plant has about 10 tomatoes on them.

Goodness !

Here is you pretty to start the week.
My Tangelo tree looks really bad but what a crop of fruit this year.

The best day of the week for Two Little Square  Black Dogs !
It is in their contract.

On my phone I have "Line" app.  Free calls, line messages, short videos, video calls plus the line camera. A great deal for when I call  Japanese family but it works in the US too.
You can buy stickers and then use them on you photos or messages.
I really don't know how to use it on the photos yet but I am muddling through
and having fun !
Of course Watson has a crown, kitty and some hearts.

While thehamish has lots of stuff all over,

Wednesday in Japan. . . small gifts

Japanese son sent a few more gifts for my birthday.
I am having a month long extravaganza.

Two more "Ekinben" covers to add to my collection.  They will be framed and added to my pantry wall. Although I really wish I could have had the meal inside.

Fabulous crackers from his last four day train trip to the Tohoku region of northeast Honshu.

What a great bag. Love the cloud ? monster eating the cracker.

The children don't seem to mind him.

 The cracker wrapping.

Son already sent me a New Year Horse but when he saw this one he had to get it.

Oh My Goodness! how kawaii is this little bobblehead horse ? Plus the box it came in is so wonderful.

.
Here is your mid-week pretty
Son said I could use her photos

And yes granddaughter is wearing the really silly hat her grandmuzilla sent her.
Unlike Tucson it is very cold in Japan right now.

Off on the scooter for some playtime at the park.

Then time to study. She is 3

Making cookies is so much fun on a cold day.

She is quite the happy little chef.

parley view parsnip. . . random clouds

I was zooming through my photos last night looking for a photo and randomly picked some cloud photos from last year. Did not find the photo I was looking for.
These are all taken from my back yard. When I sit outside I have the best movie no Oscar winner can compete with.

Weather in Tucson has been beyond beautiful in the 70's but we need our winter rains so fire season will not overwhelm us again. So unlike many in the US and the UK I wish for rain.

                                              .....................................................

Here is your pretty to start the week.
