As always just because I can here is your pretty to start the weekend.

 Blooming cactus.

The packrats have destroyed this cactus.

They ate the cactus and blooms.  This one should be very green and filled with blooms.

After feeding it I might move it to a safe place for recovery.

Not as big bloom as it should be. Of the 6 blooms and 5 smaller buds that were just appearing

have been eaten last night by the dirty rotten packrats !

Monday Monday Monday !

Yes, here we are at the start of a new week.

 This week will be an off week but I will post a

Square Dog Friday. 

It is in their contract that I have to post every Friday.

I have no desire to go to arbitration again because I always lose. 

All Watson and thehamish have to do is walk into to room and sit down and I lose !

I alway lose. lose lose and lose.

 I made some quick Japanese pickles.

Green Beans, carrots and onions and radishes sliced and whole.

 Since Watson is gone, thehamish is even more attached to me.

Much like the puppy thehamish.

Under my work table I have a pillow for The Boys to curl up on.

They like it and use it even without me sitting there.

I was working yesterday and had my toes under the pillow why ? who knows 

but all of a sudden I felt some one's head mushing around.

thehamish was resting his head on my foot.

Loved it !

Life is good.

It is Friday again, so fast where did the week go ?

But if you are a Little Square Black Dog 

it is the best day of the week.

Even if all the other days are really good it is

such fun to have your own day !

Before the computer and internet have a hissy fit I better post this.

A few photos of thehamish just back from the groomers.

He is doing much better and what is better than a herbal body wrap

to help lift your spirits.

Before he had some water I wanted to show his pretty beard and fluffy pantaloons.

 After he eats he sits by me at the worktable and watches my hands

His head moves back and forth as I get the insulin shot, eye drops and pills ready.

Following my every move. It has been at least 7 years of the same thing,

day in day out. He has 2 insulin shots, between 5 to 7 eye drops a day

plus 4 pills. We are in it for the long haul I guess.

Scotties are so funny and filled with all kinds of great quirks.

One of them is smiling.  

I do not mean the open mouth panting but a smile.

Watson had a beautiful smile and thehamish smiles also.

Since he is so close to the floor whenever I try to take a photo he follows my phone down.

I rarely can get a photo, this time it worked.

My first Scotty Kirby, the princess who owned everything that was on the floor,

hence the name Kirby, had the very best smile ever.

Wednesday in Japan. . . cookies !

I don't eat many sweets. I like some of them but my hips don't.

Not a huge fan a chocolate either. But if a Lemon Bar is anywhere near 

me my resolve cracks !

 Oreo cookies are fine just not a favorite.

But these Japanese one are really nice. They are crushed up cookies, nuts 

and a filling and covered in chocolate. Almost like a candy.

Really tasty but one is my limit. 

Super quick post, Blogger and my computer is acting up and not much works.

It is a mess. So if I don't post on Square Dog Friday you know why.

While waiting for return calls from three Vets and his Surgeon,

I was playing with my phone instead of working.

thehamish turned grey very fast in the last few months.

He has always had a very black face.  Because it is so short

and black, not the longer Scotty face, he had always looked like a puppy.

He is feeling much better today but I have canceled his operation.

He is still my sweet puppy.

Square Dog Friday.

thehamish ACL operation is a week away and 

of course that means all hell broke lose !

We had to zoom him to the Vets early Thursday morning.

He just shut down. His sugar levels were all over the place.

This is why you never say to the surgeon, 

"oh his diabeties is under control and his is doing great"

Never never never tempt fate.
Never !

Tummy problem, poo problems, not eating and he felt so bad that he
fell off the bed at 3am this morning.

He is still not eating today but he drank some water and I hand fed him
some chicken later that he ate. He is now sleeping in his bed.

....
I know lately the last few months all I talk about thehamish's
health problems but he is a happy little gud old dug.

 awwwwwww  my sweet thehamish this morning.
He walked right in passed me and walked to his crate and went to sleep.
Son and I have been talking about if he is just tired of everything, the insulin shots
20 units twice a day and the eye drops 7 a day it gets old very fast.
This has been going on for 6 years.

The Javelinas love what is left of my citrus grove.
I planted a Pomegranate tree where my favorite Meyers Lemon Tree
was. For some reason the water stands a bit and the Javelinas
love to sit in it on hot Days. It was 100 here yesterday.

 There were 3 Javelinas in the well cooling off.

 The babies have grown so much !

Wednesday in Japan. . . train trip

Son took daughter out for an overnight train trip.

He loves to ride the trains and so far so does she.
I must admit riding Japanese trains are a treat. 

But then I don't need to ride them
 during the morning commute.

 That looks like the biggest bowl of shaved ice !

 Instead of a glass of milk after a visit to the Onsen,

the owners gave her an ice cream and Daddy had a beer.

 Back home and helping Daddy make tortillas

 She loves her letters and loves writing our names.

This time she added Uncle Adam to the "zilla family"

 Again, just because I can, here is your pretty for mid-week.

For Mother's Day, Adam made me one of my favorite dishes.

From the Kerala region of India, a Fish Moilly or Fish Stew.

It is made with fish, turmeric, red onion, green chilies, ginger,

coconut cream and lime juice.

Heaven in a bowl. 

 So pretty and fabulous !

And enough left over for the next day when it taste even better.

I am so lucky !

Monday Monday, so good to me

Monday mornin', it was all I hope it would be.

I would like to thank everyone who left such lovely comments on Friday's post.

I will try to answer them today, time is moving faster than I am.

This week will be filled more doctors appointments, blood test,

buy extra food, get more of his meds and just make sure everything 

is ready for thehamish's 18 May ALC Surgery.
For him with all his health problems the operation affects all of them so we
have to be sure they and I know what to expect and how I can handle them.

Only 29 pounds (of cute) but he does need an entourage for all his stuff.

We are allowing him to walk around but no running or jumping.

He is very slow and it looks painful but he has to follow me around no matter what.

I tell him no but sooner or later he sneaks around looking for me.

He will only walk about half way and I see him peeking around the corners.
