Gyotakuya Restaurant

Gyotakuya Restaurant, originally uploaded by angryparsnip.

After Mia's Omiyamairi ceremony ...
we were treated to a wonderful lunch at the Gyotakuya Restaurant, a
fabulous traditional restaurant by Mia's Japanese Grandmother.

Please read about about the Shinto "Omiyamairi" ceremony the Japanese son posted .
He explained it better than I ever could.

It was truly a wonderful day spent with the people I love.

My blog is set up for one photo per post so be sure to scroll down for
more photos... parsnip

  3. What a wonderful and interesting time you must have had at Mia's "Omiyamairi" ceremony and the Gyotakuya Restaurant afterward. I've never been to Japan, but it looks fascinating. Such a coincidence that my first grandchild was also born May 31st this year.

Hit "read about" or go to Koguma's View to see the latest pictures.
I have not used names or clear photos in my blog but I will post one later since they live in Japan.
I feel your always open to dangers in the blog world and I like to play it safe. That is just how I feel, but Japanese son posts pictures so I feel I can link to his.

  6. I will certainly pop over to Japanese son's blog to read about the ceremony as soon as I've cleared some of my workload. The restaurant looks great. So glad it was a wonderful day and you had a good time.

p.s. yes, you sent a bridge stamp on the postcard which is now hanging from my chandelier so I can admire it several times a day!

We all had such a great time, except Koguma-chan, because it was just another day for her.
I am glad I did send what I thought was Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge ?
I wish I would have bought that page of stamps for me... many places I have visited where on that page.
I have collected over the years beautiful stamps and I have some from the UK.
Arizona Son even bought me some stamps from Liechtentein.
Little pieces of beautiful art !
