My Monday post about what is going on around my home.

I love the color green especially the color lime green and never knew
quite why ?
When I moved back to Tucson after many years away, I finally figured
out why, the Palo Verde Tree.

The lime/electric green Palo Verde tress are everywhere. They are a
big reason why Tucson is so green year around.
I grew up around these trees and love the bright green color along
with the white of the floating clouds and the bright blue sky.
My top three favorite colors in any combination.

In spring the trees are blanketed with pale yellow blossoms.
The leafs have 4 to 10 pairs of tiny, and I mean tiny leaflets, tiny
little round dot of lush green.
These drop off leaving the stem which is the leaf.
After the blooms fade the seed pods are food for birds and the ground

The Palo Verde is Arizona State Tree.
Just Beautiful !

  3. Hmm, I don't really associate Arizona with the color green. Shows how much I know.

  4. Hurrayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! I can comment - 4th attempt! New laptop so had to tootle with my cookie options, great to actually be able to day AGAIN....I'm with Norma great artist!

  5. Those Palos Verdes trees are very pretty - I can see why you like them so much! With yellow blossoms, they must be just beautiful too!

    Happy Tuesday to you, Parsnip:)

  6. Love the seed pods. Have you tried growing them from seed parsnip?

  7. Norma...
I am reading, Chasing The Wind, I love your writing !

    Empress Bee...
Colors that make you feel cool ! love them in hot, hot, hot Tucson.

Arizona is very green not everywhere in the state but you would be surprised.

Yahoo ! you git it working !

I have to say they are number one on my tree list !

The seed pods are so cute. I have thought of planting some but you can see little trees popping up everywhere outside but the next day they are gone, even in my fenced yard, because all the ground animals nibble them up.

  8. What I've gleaned about Arizona is the spaces between the focus of attention seem to accentuate their uniqueness.
If you could look out through my window now and see the masses of different greens all merging into one you would understand. Or maybe I'm talking drivel:)

  9. I hope to visit Tucson some day. You make it sound superb.
