Train Poster

Train Poster, originally uploaded by angryparsnip.

Poster is for a 3 day train pass in the Kansai area. The Train card
has photos of the attractions that you can visit. Left top, Kobe,
Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Wakayama.

When people visit this area you expect to eat a lot of Tako,
( Octopus ) so that is why the Tako is a mascot of this area. You
will see the little red Tako everywhere.
The best Takoyaki ( small dumplings with a tiny piece of octopus in
the middle ) I had was at a street vender at the base of the Osaka
Tower, so good. . . ahhhhhhh I miss Osaka !

Kansai dreaming. . . parsnip
music . . . California Dreaming . . . The Mamas and The Papas. . .
OST Chunking Express

  1. I once saw a Greek fisherman smash an octopus repeatedly against a rock - presumably to kill it which quite put me off.

    That is so sad...
I feel the same way about beef. When I drive to Oakland and pass the feed-yards and see the truck carrying the cows and their little nose sticking out through the bars. Breaks my heart. I have given up beef because of it.

  3. Love the poster.

When I was in Turkey the captain of the Gullet we were on caught octopus every day, but he always put them back. I like octopus though, and would happily have eaten any of them!
