Tucson had quite a bit of rain and snow.
Everything is blooming in the short spring as Summer heat is coming.
One bad result from this is my Century Plant, Agave plant, is going to bloom and then die.
Living sculpture.
With a very cute iwinnston.
iwinston with his new summer cut.
When I bought this home one of the wonderful things about it was the two Century Plants
in the backyard. You can see one bloomed years later. All the birds and critters love
the seeds and crunchy bits of the plant. I miss the plant, I understand about
Mother Nature but I don't have to like it.

As always here comes your pretty for midweek.
After the "destroyer" ripped the screens apart we put a heavy screen over the
regular screen. I have been working with Agatha and she has almost figured
out that I will open the door for her without the screen ripping.
Agatha Tallulah is a hoot !
iwinston just stands and watches.
cheers, parsnip

Cute dogs and the desert is beautiful. I just got back from a trip to Northern New Mexico and love the beauty of the area.

I love the open space and a place to be.
DeleteHi, Gayle!
ReplyDeleteStep aside, Scofield & Burrows. Looks like Agatha & Winston are starring in the reboot of Prison Break! :)
I always wanted to own a majestic Agave century plant. It makes a striking landscape feature. I didn't know that a century plant's life span is only 10 to 30 years and that it blooms only once and dies soon after. I read that suckers and shoots form underground from which new plants eventually sprout, but I suppose it takes quite a while for a plant to grow to that magnificent size.
Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Gayle!
I do not like the bloom or the dying of the plant. Mother nature knows better than me.
DeleteInteresting about the plant. I didn’t know that. Love the photos of the naughty dogs, as always!
ReplyDeleteNaughty gud dugs
DeleteThe colours are quite breathtaking
ReplyDeleteThe desert has the clear bright light
DeleteYou have taught me something new, thank you! I did not know that about the century plant. It is amazing how high it reaches. Love seeing Agatha & Winston! Agatha looks sad looking out the door. I hope she learns to not scratch it so much. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAgatha is getting better and now scratches hardly at all.
DeleteI wonder what he is thinking though.
ReplyDeleteHe is think what can he do to be the protector of HIS home.
DeleteAgatha and Winston are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow here yesterday, as well as a bit of it today.
We had to very warm days and a few cool ones. They will only get hotter from now on.
DeleteI haven't heard about century plants. Do they die after they bloom?
ReplyDeleteOh, dear, Agatha...!!!! Someone said she looked sad, but I think she looks kind of pleased with herself though....there is a bit of an achievement in making a clear space to look through!
Yes, the die after blooming and I understand Mother Nature but I don't have to like it !
DeleteAgatha is looking for you!
ReplyDeleteWe had one or two of those plants and it kept growing and growing until we thought it would never stop. We finally cut it down. With winds and stuff, we didn't know if it was safe. Ours grew impossibly high.
Agatha need to know where I am at all times. That is so sad that she is so dependent on me but she had a hard life before.
DeleteOh Agatha!!! She will not be denied entry into the house! Beautiful photos and adorable gud dugs too! X
ReplyDeleteShe wants and NEEDS to be in the home. It is sad
DeleteThat Century Plant is so cool. Glad that Agatha's Screen Therapy is going well!
ReplyDeleteShe is doing better but it makes me sad that she is afraid that bad stuff might happen.
DeleteAgatha is a riot.
ReplyDeleteShe is a crazy
DeleteI just had to re-spline the screens on our porch. It used to be the dog, but now it's the grandkids. Stay tuned for hummingbirds flying full tilt into the screens and getting their beaks caught.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad about the hummingbirds. We have many of them flitting around
DeleteWinston is looking super handsome in his summer cut! Agatha is a very skilled destroyer lol! Love those photos of her sticking her head through the hole :-)
ReplyDeleteYes the summer cut is great and if it gets wet it dries really nice.
DeleteYour dogs are just adorable :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
