Century Plant

The winter rains have come and everything is growing.

Century Plant is growing fast, sending up the stalk.

I will miss this living sculpture when it dies.

Everything has buds and new growth.

.

Trumpet Flower Cactus.
I do not want plant this one till the bloom comes. Huge flower 12 inches tall 6 inches across.

Agatha is hiding in plain sight,  this is her stealth security role.

Top security agent iwinston is also on stealth duty.

As always here is your pretty for the week.

This cloud was really more pink/rose but the camera chose a very yellow
yellow instead. It looks nice but I wish the color was more sunset pink.

cheers,  parsnip

  1. Hi, Gayle!

Those are gorgeous puffy clouds overhead. I'm sorry you will soon lose that dramatic living sculpture, your Century Plant. A couple of years ago at a lodging complex near Disney World I saw one just like it with a long stalk. I had no idea it would soon die. Enjoy it while you can. Your other desert plant specimens appear to be thriving. I enjoyed those pictures of Agatha and Winston on "peccary patrol." :)

I hope you are having a nice week, dear friend Gayle!

  4. What a beautiful yard!

My cactus attacked me yesterday and I'm still pulling out those prickly things.

  5. I love your century plant. It's a living sculpture indeed!
Agatha and Winston are doing great with their stealthy security duties :-)
I'm always unsuccessful taking photo of pink/blue sunset sky. Colors don't show up in the photo right. You caught some pretty clouds :-)

  7. Odd... I thought I commented on this one.

Enjoy the century plant while you can.

And Winston and Agatha are quite at attention.

  8. Glorious! (How often I wonder do I use that word here?) Anyway, the photos are glorious. I know people who say the desert is brown, gray, and boring. They just don't look closely enough.
