Here is your pretty to start the weekend
A photo of Watson and the baby thehamish
Short story, after Watson died we started looking for a friend for thehamish.
He was missing Watson so much.
I was so sure I could find a shelter friend for him.
I wanted a older unadoptable big dog that needed a home or a small terrier.
Spread the love around.
We went on so many meet and greets with dogs.
Boy do I have stories..... but they had to get along with thehamish.
I even had a dog here for over 2 weeks, that I had his teeth fixed, pumped him full of meds
but he wanted to be the only dog. For us not a good mix.
If I didn't have thehamish I could have adopted several great dogs.
A year and a half later we found a Scottish puppy "to be" up in Phoenix.
Several month later he has arrived.
He does not answer to George or Hoover, my choices. Fergus or Finley, Adam's choices.
i thehamish is pickin' thething, it', mandables' or mandables' ofdoom
The saga begins
cheers, a very nawed on parsnip
Mr. Winkie would not look Emmy in the eyes when I brought her home to him. He really didn't want much to do with her. Enter Sister and she and Emmy are inseparable. I was thinking Mr. Winkie thought he was being replaced. But, the girls are my joy in life. You are braver than I am Gayle. He is a cutie, but then I think all dogs are.
ReplyDeleteWhat is life if it doesn't have stress.
DeleteI will now have to live at least 10 more years no matter what the doctors say !
I really wish I could have found the right friend.
As for being brave... dementia helps.
MacTavish? Sean? Callum? Malcolm? Dougal? Ewan? Rory? Possible alternatives, but it must be Scottish.
ReplyDeleteHamish seems perplexed by the pup!
We have been looking up Scottish names. I love your choices.
DeleteMy first Scotty was a Kirby. Because everything on the floor was here !
I always said I wanted all my furry friends named after veggie, I have had a Turnip or vacuums. Great names, Hoover, Dyson, Electrolux, Panasonic, Miele, Bissell, Oreck.
Can you just see me calling Panasonic Panasonic come here !
Hi, Gayle!
ReplyDeleteI am very excited to see that thehamish has this super cute new Scottish pup for a brouther. I hope they get along. I hope he thehamish doesn't eat the puppy just to find out if he tastes like chkikin'. They certainly look adorable together, sniffin' up a storm. I hope this gives thehamish a psychological boost and the will to continue having fun for a long long time to come.
I am also happy to know that you monsoons are cooling the temps down to the low triple digits. The javelina must be overjoyed.
Please take care of yourself and your lovable doggies and have a wonderful weekend, dear friend Gayle!
Lots of wind and rain here !
DeleteHope thehamish doesn't find out if the puppy taste like chkikin'
Monsoons gud !
ReplyDeleteRain gud !
Flash flooding Not gud !
Lightning strikes not gud !
Fires not gud !
The rain is helping cool everything down, thank goodness. Only 100 today.
Squeeeee! Puppy breath, and leeetle gnawing teeth, and puddles on the floor! So excited for you and thehamish.
ReplyDeleteAnd do you remember what the very lonely Abominable Snowman said to a very perplexed Daffy Duck in the Looney Tune Cartoon??? "I will name him George; And I shall hug him, and pet him and squeeze him and pat him, and pet him, and rub him and caress him..." George is a very gud name. X
I do remember that .... one of the reasons why I picked George. But we shall see.
ReplyDeleteSo funny he is a talker, he talks to the chew toys when trying to chew on them. He barks first then starts talking. We have a super quiet home. I taught the Square Ones not to over bark so this is new for us all.
thehamish is also getting payback for all the "....." he did to Watson, who took such gud care of thehamish. He loved him to the day he died always making sure he was gud.
DeleteHow delightful! The baby is precious & know he will be knawsome & a great playmate for Hamish. So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteHe is very sweet and a huge teething pain !

ReplyDeleteWe have to pick a name soon son is leaning towards Duncan.

DeleteOMG, he is ADORABLE! Congratulations. I think the new puppy will give both you and thehamish a new lease on life. :)
ReplyDeleteHe is following thehamish around. thehamish is not so sure..... forgetting this is what he did with Watson
DeleteHe's adorable, a Hamish in training.
ReplyDeletehe is a cuttie
DeleteAnd life will never be the same♥
ReplyDeleteSo true !
DeleteBrilliant! We all love him here. Ted says tell thehamish he understands completely what he's going through as it was the same when Poppy arrived. But it does get better after a while. Can you send me your email via my comments? I have a photo I think you'll love x
ReplyDeleteI sent you my e-mail.
DeleteThey always forget when they are older !
A miniature thehamish! They are adorable together.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
He is all black with thick Scotty hair were thehamish is more brindled.
Deleteexcept for his head which was all black.
Scotties are my only luxury.
Oh my goodness, he is adorable! Congratulations on your new puppy! I hope he will become a good friend and brother of thehamish. Sounds like thehamish isn't so sure now but I think they'll get along eventually :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the name George but he sure will pick (answer to) the name he likes!
I like George but Ferges is coming up fast.
DeleteThe little new guy is so cute. A mini me of the Hamish. They already look like they are getting along together. Hamish the Mentor!
ReplyDeletethehamish is so sweet to him but he did a little back off growl which I think is needed.
DeleteCute little devil. I like Fergus.
ReplyDeleteWe have to name him soon... I can not decide George or Fergus.
DeleteFurball of Destruction comes to mind.
I like Fergus, too. He'll get used to his new name in time.
ReplyDeletechkikin helps
DeleteFergus is the best name for another guddug ! Not as good as thehamish, but then nothing is.
ReplyDeleteMy original owners called me Berta, but my new Mum called me Inca, and everyone says it's such a pretty name. I soon got used to my new name, especially when it came with treats !
Inca xx
Berta is very nice but I like your new name.
DeleteIf fergus was a girl I was going to name her Agatha.
I thought I left a comment, but for some reason it didn't take. So here goes again. It looks like Hamish is going to get along well with the new arrival.
ReplyDeleteNot as good as Watson did with him but considering he is really not feeling all that great (his doctors have only given him a few months to live) he is handling this all fairly OK.
DeleteI was curious as to who "george" was; such a kyoot widdle puppyfluffball! approach with caution, ithehamish! congrats to you all!
ReplyDeletemandibles of death !
DeleteLovely! All good wishes for all y'all! He is adorable! xoxox
ReplyDeleteIt has been 15 years since I raised a puppy !
DeleteI have a fur baby named Duffy. I always thought it sounded Scottish. He's the best dog I ever had.
ReplyDeleteawww I love that name !
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. He is absolutely gorgeous. And so cute sleeping next to theHamish.
ReplyDeleteAwe! The Fergie is just the perfect addition once theHamisch realizes it too.
