Storm Clouds

Storm Clouds, originally uploaded by angryparsnip.

It is 2:30 on Monday afternoon, it is 103 right now and the Storm
clouds are rolling in with lots of thunder.
There is a hazardous weather forecast... slow moving storm, gusty
winds and moderate to heavy rainfall with the possible of hail.
Summer in Tucson can be very exciting.

The Foothills and the Catalina Mountains have turned very green with
the summer rains. It is looking quite lush.

  1. We have had thunder, rain and the greenest grass you've ever seen - but not such beautiful skies.

  2. I don't know if the storm clouds are prettier there or that you don't things for granted and you show beauty where the rest of us just stumble to and from work without pausing to notice it. Thanks for helping me pause.

  3. Pat...
As I said before I think it has to do with the bright light.

    Carole...
    Thank You for saying that.
Tucson has such a wide open feeling. I grew up here and as much as I love the city I feel at home with the openness of this valley.
We have huge mountains, wide open land and you are so close to the sky and clouds here. You can see the far off storms falling in sheets zooming across the valley.
I live in the foothills and I swear I can feel the air filled with sage, ozone, rain, mesquite, and touch the clouds as they flow by.
I am so lucky that I can see all this beauty around me everyday.
