Evening Sky

Evening Sky, originally uploaded by angryparsnip.

One of the reasons we who live in Tucson and put up with hot summers
(the other nine months are fabulous) are the Summer skies !

I wish my camera could have gotten the color better, the Red was
tinted with a deep Rose and the sky had more Lavender in it.
The whole sky just glowed !
This was one of the most beautiful and exciting evening skies this
Summer.

  1. Amazing! The infinite canvas of the sky.

  2. It reminds me of an oil painting of sky in one of the classic paintings, a Rubens or something from the Sistine cathedral ceiling. Brilliant.

    It was so amazing !

    Kass...
I draw and paint clouds, I am very tempted to try this one.

    Elisabeth...
When I saw it I immediately thought of a Cathedral ceiling or like you said a Rubens.
This photo does it no justice.

  4. That is really quite astonishing, the clouds look solid like a display of Philip Treacey hats!

My camera doesn't quite capture colours either, I'm sorely tempted to spend a month's grocery budget on a new one, but am trying to hold out for my 50th next April and hoping the boys come good!

  5. Eryl...
I understand the waiting. I keep saying I am buying a new camera but except for great close-ups of wildlife and the cloud colors.... I think my camera is just fine.
Plus I just don't want to carry around lenses and a bigger camera.
You don't look anywhere near 50... Unlike Pat I look way over 63 and someone said to me in the store, "well you just take your time dear... " so wrong on so many levels !
