Square Dog Friday. . . Herbal Body Wraps

Here it is the best day of the week.
Square Dog Friday.
We all know the drill, so lets woof it.
.
The Square Ones went for their "Herbal Body Wraps" on Thursday.
They are both so fluffy an more fabulous than ever.
.

Could not believe Watson was sitting still and almost posing for me.
It was so wonderful !
I was trying to take a photo of his back legs that look like pantaloons.
.
He comes back so soft like silk.
,
 My sweet baboo.
.
 I just love Dr. Watson
.
His dementia is getting worst and he had a little harder time this visit when getting brushed out.
A little more anxiety. They are the best groomers (Poochini's) and treat him with care.
I am thinking of taking him every 4 weeks instead of 6.
And see if that helps.
.
And guess who is next.
thehamish
 se me ilookin' gud
.
 I starin' down the snake
i am strong i thehamish
i am beautiful
yert
.
 i also not feelin' gud.
kinda sad

 i gots gud nose.
.

I was cleaning and The Boys did not like (?) all the dust.
So thehamish just crawled into the crate with the gud dug Watson and snuggled down. Hiding his nose and face in Watson's neck.
thehamish is really not feeling great. I have to take him back to the eye doctor,
he is not tolerating the new eye drops.
.
I have to go to the eye doctor on Thursday
to see if I am having another tear and vitreous fluid is leaking
 .
As thehamish would say
Oh woe oh woe is me.
In fact we are both saying
oh woe
.

........................

And just because I can
here is your pretty for the weekend.

Monsoons clouds from Wednesday afternoon.

Many of you know I live in a Border State and Border City.
I have long thought about writing my feeling about what is going on with
the massive illegal problem.
But as this is just my fun blog about my dogs and the State I love,
I thought I would not write about this problem.
But.... with what has finally boiled over and how I feel about the fact my
political party (Democrat ) and a government doesn't give a "rat ass" about me,
just as long as I keep paying my taxes.

So next week I will try to keep it short, I will write each day about,
Mexico, anchor babies, education, health care and the cartels trafficking and families
of children and women who are used as money.
I always listen to and give everyone a chance to speak about what they believe in.
Except for violence against women and children, especially in religious context and
discrimination  against gay and lesbians. And of course animal rights.
'
Take care everyone and have a great weekend.

Wednesday In Japan. . . coffee

Some of the best coffee I have ever had, has been in Japan.
In the hot summer months they make the very best Iced Coffee.
Just iced coffee no whipped cream, caramel, chocolate, syrup flavoring
or sprinkles. No sprinkles in coffee !
On cake, yes please but not in my coffee.
 .
I ordered a Japanese cold coffee maker.
You brew the coffee over night in the refrigerator.
Daughter makes hers with her old Melita drip maker.
I am hoping this might help me with the acid (?)  in the coffee.
Coffee and my new medicines are not playing nice lately.
If you want it hot you can microwave it.
But in the summer iced coffee even in the morning is just so good.
Especially if it is 85+ at 7 am.
.

 New coffee maker
.
 Fun directions in Japanese.
.
Take re-usable coffee filter and fill to the line with coffee.
Using my blog friend wonderful Holy Cow Coffee Company coffee.
.
 Insert in jar.
.
Slowly pour good filtered water to the very top slowly over the coffee.
Your coffee is only as good as your water.
.
Then you let it sleep over night in the refrigerator.
Night night, sweet dreams.

yummmmmmmmm !   I had one glass this morning and we shall see how I do.
It was so good.
.

Here is your pretty for mid week.
Follower Em, thought the rain didn't look right in my last post.
The summer monsoons are needed but can be very dangerous and destructive.
Not at all like the wonderful and much needed Winter rains, that soak into the earth.
Summer monsoons are fast moving storms.  Rain and wind traveling across the Tucson valley. Leaving a torrent of swift moving runoff that takes rocks, boulders, trees, cars
and people who think they can cross.  The swift running water flows in the streets
to the washes then into the rivers.
.
Not all the storms are destructive but many are.
Here are a few photos from past summers.

parley view parsnip. . . what happened this weekend ?

What happened this weekend ?
Lots of lovely fireworks and RAIN !
.
Many have been saying the monsoons have started.
But for me it really doesn't officially start till some 20/30 year old "boy" decides to drive his truck into the flooded railway underpass at Stone Avenue, in the City of Tucson.
Then the fire department has to come out and rescue them.
There are signs all over saying do not enter when flooded. A measure painted on the wall.
But every year someone will assume the rules are not for them
and get stuck in the flooded underpass.
When the summer rains come down so fast in micro burst the water rushes down the streets into the washes then down to the rivers.
We had two swift water rescues this weekend and only have had two days of rain.
yert !
............

Yes, first day of rain !
.

.

 Saturday, second day of rain.
The rain poured down.
It was a fast moving storm with hail.
It lasted 30 minutes at my home as it moved west.
The temperature went from 95 to 77.
.

In the middle of the photo you can see the rain coming down on the right and left.
Before roaring by my home.
.
.
Not a very clear photo of thehamish after a game a fetch.
I had to take it quick.
He is holding a ball and his tongue is hanging out the side of his mouth
at at the same time.
I lurve this dog.
.
And here he is sleeping. . .
.
with the tip of of little pink tongue sticking out.
Cheeky little devil.
.

Oh the sweet baboo Watson is just waking up from a nap.

Best day of the week !
Square Dog Friday is here.
You know the drill so lets woof it !
yert !
......
I am happy to say that the monsoon have finally started.
For the last few weeks it has been hot hot burning hot days and evenings,
with little humidity.
But a storm started in the southwest and finally made it to Tucson.
......................
I was so happy that I went to stand in the rain.
The air smelled of dust, sage and ozone.
Lighting and thunder all around me.
Perfect !
 ................
But there are Two Little Square Black Dogs who are not that happy.
A big NO to rain.
.
Watson is checking out the wet stuff !

 Rain in the valley !
The air smells so good.
Sage, dust and ozone.

parley view parsnip... it is so hot in Tucson and a rant

Goodness,
while much of the U.S. is overloaded in rain,
we here in the southwest are burning up.
On my radar weather page, I see the storms come up fron Mexico into Texas up north
and then swing east.
That leaves Arizona dry and gasping for some rain.
This week we might have the start of some monsoon storms.
I am lighting some candles.
Hope.
Here are a few of my summer "hot" sunsets before the monsoons come.
 .....
Sunset and the (very tiny) moon
awwwwwwwwww  I love this one.
.
 .

From picasa to my blog I always lose some color.
.

 .

My camera is so fickle and I keep changing the setting to try to get the best colors.
One photo blue and then more green the next.
.

Much needed water drops on the grass.
.
A small rant
Last Friday I was reading one of my most favorite blogs.
On the post she had mentiond her friends having a wildlife camera (I am getting one) that takes photos every 5 minutes.  They had noticed a hedgehog that had not moved for over five mintues staying in the same spot. When they looked they found a dead hedgehog with it head bitten off.
The blogger was wondering if a cat could have killed the hedgehog and bitten off its head in 5 minutes. I said yes.
Of course I had to comment by inserting my foot in mouth.
I commented about cats not being left to roam especially un-nutered. and what cats have done to the bird population.
On a farm I understand the need for rodent control but no where else should
a cat be left to roam.
Feral cats are are especially evil.  One un nutered male can sire so many litters in a year, that keep having more and more litters.
If I can find the report I read about a study in the  UK the bird population
has dropped so fast due to city cats being left to run amok
and the French farmers killing the migrating birds.
They are expecting problems. I will post it.
Before I leave my comment, I usually love to read the comments.
I should not have that day.
One comment has stayed with me for three days now and I am repulse, sickened, horrified and much more.
Seems this commenter " has a sweet cat" who regularly catches rabbits, brings then into the house drags them into the bathroom. Then she jumps into the bath with the rabbit so that the rabbit can not get out, they are alive. And eats their head.
Then goes out to get another rabbit.
Hello. what the hell is the owner doing.  Standing around cheering ?
I have seen too much "people" cruelty to animals,
that I don't think we should be adding to it this way.
I hope that commentor does not have children that see this kind of cruelty and think it is OK.  cruelty is cruelty.
This poor rabbit was frightened, toyed with, played with, battered about then finally killed while the cat ate it head.
I understand on a farm one need to keep rodent population under control.
But you get a permit to shoot rabbits. Your don't terrorize and then eat its head
 End of rant.
yert !
..........................
And just because I can, here is your pretty to start the week.
As stated and signed in the latest agreement by arbitration.
The Square Ones get more photos.
.
When it is hot it is hot.

 Gud dug sweet baboo Watson.
I had to move the water dish while cleaning.

Square Dog Friday. . . BanZai

.

It is Friday and we all know what that means, so lets woof it.
A rather blurry video (why ?) of thehamish playing with a new toy.
Years ago Watson would have been right there in the scrum but now at almost 17 he is slowing down a little.

..................................
And here is your pretty to start the weekend.

A few action shots of thehamish with Watson looking on, possibly thinking

Wednesday in Japan. . . but it is really Tucson

I am trying to finish an art project
and as I usually have only about 4 good hours to work
before my eyes start to bother me, so this is a quick post.
.
Think I have to go back to the doctor and have my eyes sewn-up again they are leaking.
But they are very pretty with lighting bolts, firework and amoebas floating by.
.
We have this wonderful Japanese Restaurant a few minutes from my home.
It is called Ginza and it is an Izakaya styled restaurant.
Lots of small dishes to chose from that are shared at the table.
Along with sushi it also has the traditional Izakaya dishes of sashimi, tempura and salads.
It also has a nice selection of beers and sake.
Plus a wonderful atmosphere and fabulous owners and staff.
Reminds me of Japan.
......
 Yuzu Hamachi
.
 Sashimi
.
I forgot to take the photos of the nigiri, we had hamachi (yellow tail) ebi (shrimp) and mackerel. Gosh I love mackerel, a dense firm fish that tastes of the ocean
 and very rich.

............................

And just because I can or have to according the arbitration.
Here are The Square Ones for your mid-week pretty.
Along with the extra homemade chkikin' strips
they get.
.
 Gud Dug Watson sleeping
.

and  dreaming of  flowers.
On his walks he loves to stop and smell the flowers.
He is just so sweet.
.

And then there is thehamish.
Oh Lord have mercy .....
Sleeping, he is sleeping even with his eyes somewhat open
and the tip of his tongue sticking out.
What a hoot !
