Mia  (middle) was dressed as Kiki Delivery Service and so was the girl next to her.
You can see Jiji the talking cat on the friends shoulder. Mia carried Jiji in the little
wicker cage that you can't see.
Mia and family were there because of David's work with the International Exchange Group.

  4. Hi, Gayle!

Those Winston poses are precious, dear friend, suitable for framing and hanging on the wall! We used to laugh at our Toto because she behaved the same way whenever we said, "Toto, Santa's coming," or "Toto, the Easter Bunny's coming." She would run to the window barking and crying, rear up on her hind legs with her front paws on the glass and search in every direction. You should explain to Winston that the peccary and bobcat are "Santa's helpers." :)

What a glorious burst of color on your Prickly Pear! Thanks for showing us Trick-or-Treat Japanese style and the costumes worn by your granddaughter Mia and her friend.

Have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Gayle!

  7. Holy smokes...is that a bobcat? You grow them big down there! And we certainly do not have any of those cute Javelinas hanging around. Are the bobcats after the Javelinas for lunch? And are the Javelinas after your prickly pears? The plot thickens! X

    1. Yes that is a Bobcat and he was a very big one. The Bobcats leave the Javelina alone but the Javelinas love Prickly Pear.

  8. Wow, Mia sure is growing up fast! (Then again, I guess they all do...) She's a lovely young lady.

Those silly dogs. Why look for Santa when they've already got... YOU? :)

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  10. Your dogs are so wonderful to look at! Such expressive faces. But I am glad your wildlife doesn't live in NE Ohio. Of course, we have our own problems, woodchucks, skunks, deer, the occasional fox, possums......But javelins and bobcats look scary!

    1. He barks like crazy. Trouble is they would make short work of him.
When I first moved here Winston and ihamish were barking at the iron fence, I walked out to quiet them and there was a big coyote checking them out. They doubled teamed him.
Coyotes can jump any fence along with the Bobcats and Mountain Lions

  14. Mia is adorable!!

I love the pups, but as my daughter (super nana) says when she's here, "Too much nature!" about the bobcats, havelinas, and holy moley, mountain lions!! I'm glad iwinston, truffles, and agatha just bark from INSIDE the house! xoxo

    1. They bark outside but I am always home so I listen for them. They never go out alone at dark without me.

  15. Good grief. Living in a country where our native wildlife does not view our fur-babies as a quick lunch snack it is quite a shock to see a bobcat wandering through your garden. Now I finally "get it" when I have read about people not letting their dogs out at night for fear of them being taken.

How is dear old Mrs Tuffles doing?
