Here comes Winter !

Well we had a week of Fall and now here is winter.
Taa Daa !
Some rain (YES !) and Snow (Yes Yes !) in the mountains.
We desert people are happy.
Cold today about 59/41, tomorrow 70/41.

The wind blew the in storm on Saturday. Strong winds, the batten down the hatches
type of wind with tie down small dogs and garbage cans.

Very early morning, iwinston is looking out the window at stuff flying by.

He stood outside barking in his best Scottish rumble bark at the wind.
He didn't know what it was as a pillow flew by.
He was so brave and the wind stopped.
gud dug !

Sunday morning about 7am the winds and clouds dropped a light dusting of snow.
View from my back yard.

Melted right away but Mt. Lemon had lots more.

This Scotty loves the cold, rain and was outside playing in the wet.
He was even all curled up sleeping outside. I kept bring him he he kept going back outside.

Then he was dry ! after digging in the new sand box.

 ........

As always here is your pretty to start the week.

Oliver

.

cheers,  parsnip

  2. Hi, Gayle!

Looks like catty Oliver is being hatched from a large blue egg! After enduring months of extreme desert heat I know is was refreshing for you to feel the difference after a cold front and storm blew through your region. That view of the mountain is awesome. Clearly Winston is one of those gud dugs that loves to play and even sleep outdoors in cooler weather, rain or shine.

Have a wonderful week, dear friend Gayle!

  5. We were having lovely winter weather, highs in the 50's and 60's, but now we're back in the 70's, Boo-Hiss. I'm like Winston, I want the cold and wind.

  10. My goodness, iwinston can stop the wind from blowing! With super powers like that he’ll figure out who’s digging holes in your garden in no time. Love Oliver in his cosy bag x ps your mountain looks Scottish in that picture.

    1. Digging holes is harder as his footie prints keep getting in the way !

  11. Oh my what a brilliant picture of Oliver! You need to frame that and put it on the wall! Interesting to see wintry scenes on your normally summery looking blog. I bet those animals were surprised. I was in Arizona once during February and was amazed at the deep snow (it wasn't in your part of AZ). And most surreal of all, the snow was pure PINK in Monument Valley!

    1. We get snow even in the desert. I live in the foothill so the snow line will drop down. All depends on what Canada is doing.
