Square Dog Friday. Thunder and Lighting !

Bad bad bad week.

AC not fixed till Wednesday. Much to hot for me plus the worst was yet to come.

Thursday morning at 7:30 a storm blew in  over the Catalinas (picture below) and dropped a huge amount of rain. At 8 am the thunder and lighting hit right above my home. The boom and crack was deafening.  Blew out and fried the modem.  Knocked out all  the internet/computer. Woe.

I can't really complain we need the rain but we could use less thunder and lighting !

iwinston did not understand the deafening noise but was ready to jump in and battle.and
battle the monster.

Agatha ran for any space she could find.

The last 4 years we have a very quiet monsoon but this year all hell has broken out. Storms every day loud crashing storms and the lighting strikes have been overwhelming.
The Vaisala Company (Tucson) detects  real time storms and lighting data world over.  Our weather maps shows the amount of strikes and where they are happening.

Agatha is so exhausted from all these storms.

Some rain and the desert greens up and plants bloom.

Always on patrol !

Some pretty for the start of the weekend.

  2. We are getting a storm right now with lots of thunder. Lights have flashed a couple of times. It has rained almost every afternoon or night for 2 weeks. We do need it.

    1. We are getting storms every day not like the ones we had. These storms come at different times than they did when I was younger and up to about 4 years ago.
We do need the rain everything has really greened up the last few days.

  3. Poor Agatha. While I do love a good thunder storm, having so many in a row and so close is quite a different story! Hopefully, some of the rain involved helped to put out a few wild fires and not start any new ones! Wishing you a quiet and peaceful weekend friend Gayle. X

  4. Poor Agatha! The booms from those storms would scare me, I can imagine how scared Agatha must have been. The cat café cartoon is great.

    2. We need more. Such a dry year. Not much snow over the winter so river water levels are low. They're starting to recover a little now.

  9. Thunder can be hard on so many dogs. I'm fortunate mine isn't bothered. Love that purple/pink flower!

  10. Scary for Agatha but glad you're getting some rain. It has been a very rainy summer here so far- a banner year for mosquitoes. Love that cartoon!

  11. AC that's not working is miserable in a hot climate. So often it thunders and thunders here and terrifies my poor doggies. We don't always have the storm--just the thunder.

    Love,
    Janie
