We have had 2 nights of hard freeze. Today when I got up with the
Gud Dugs at 6:30 it was snowing. It was about 40 but as it dropped to 34
big fat wet snowflakes were falling. It is now Noon and it is still snowing.
.
Just a few photos...
Drying off and warming up.

As always here is your pretty to start the weekend.
Snow-shower Clouds over the Ricons Mountains.

Hi, Gayle!
ReplyDeleteI was just reading the news headline about the rare snowstorm in Arizona and immediately thought about you and your gud dugs. It is an amazing sight to see the white stuff coming down and coating desert cacti and succulents. I wonder what Winston and Agatha thought of that strange phenomenon. I'm betting they loved it and wish it would happen more often, especially in July. :) I envy you, dear friend Gayle. You got snow this winter and I didn't! :)
Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
It is nice and pretty but where I live we get hit hard. Last time this happened, i lost most of my small citrus grove. The snow is ok but the hard freeze before is awful.
DeleteWinston and Agatha seem perplexed by the white stuff.
ReplyDeleteHe just wanted to play and she wanted to eat it.
DeleteThey were playing but after a half hour I brought them in.
I enjoyed your video - it seemed so peaceful. I love how a snowfall makes everything sound so muffled and quiet. Winston and Agatha seemed to enjoy their play time in the snow!
ReplyDeleteLove that soft snow, it is quiet.
DeleteThat square black dog is enjoying it - but then he knows he has a snug warm house and bed to return to when he is ready.
ReplyDeleteHe loves the cold I have to drag him in the house.
DeleteSaw where it was snowing in Arizona. It was 84 here today.
ReplyDeleteIt will be back in the low 70's later on.
DeleteIs this their first experience with snow? They look like they had a grand time and are happy for a nap. Your photos of the snow are so pretty. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThey have both seen snow but Agatha's life with the hoarder has her frighten of even light rain as night.
DeleteWowza! Such snow in AZ! The two pups look somewhat confused but enjoying the white stuff. Hope your citrus survive! X
ReplyDeleteCactus are OK with snow but not the hard freeze.
Deleteiwinston loves the cold so I have to drag him inside.
Winston loves the cold !
ReplyDeleteI have to figure out what to do with the damage trees from 7 years ago. I might chop them down and replant with younger trees and keep them small so we can cover them. Hard freeze tonight.
Holy moley. When I think of Tucson, snow sure isn't the first thing that comes to mind. (Or the fiftieth...) It looks like Winston enjoyed that strange white stuff, though. It's fairly warm here, but we've had so much rain over the past week, it may be time to start building our ark.
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend. (Stay warm!) Cheers!
Well every 10 years or so we get one of these hard freezes or snow.
DeleteI love snow. What a treat to see pretty snow on a cactus!
ReplyDeleteSnow is fun for us desert people.
DeleteOh, the photos are breathtaking. There was snow, slush and black ice when we arrived in Vegas Thursday. It has improved significantly since then!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy your vacation in Vegas is warming up.
DeleteWow, beautiful but brrr. Cacti must be very unhappy. I wonder what Winston and Agatha thought about the snow :-)
ReplyDeleteHe didn't care and she just wanted to eat it and roll around in it.
DeleteHey. Cheers from Gilbert! I was shocked how much snow they got up North but it was funny that there was snow on the cars in North Scottsdale! Crazy weather
ReplyDeleteHey, right back at you....
DeleteAnything in Phoenix (suburb of L.A.) is awful and usually funny.
The world has gone mad........there should be some places that are totally immune from winter weather. Please.
ReplyDeleteThis only happen every 10 years now... we are back to sun and 70's
DeleteIt is Canada's fault they forget to close their windows and we gat all the cold air !
That is what I think and I am sticking to it !
Oh how I wish our snow was as short-lived as yours! Looks the doggies enjoyed it :)
ReplyDeleteWe do get snow every few years but since I live in the lower part of mountains I get colder weather than the valley.
DeleteBrr! I'm cold just looking at those photos! I think gud dogs need sweaters! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to drag iwinston in because he loves the cold.
ReplyDeleteWow! So pretty. That must be pretty unusual for you guys, huh? Have the dogs ever seen snow before?
