Square Dog Friday...puppy bootcamp !

What is going on in the Square Dog world.
.
.

This is the other side of Mondays post.
After he came in Winston wanted to go back outside, just like a cat.
Scotties are the cats of Dogdom.
The other side of the door is always better.

So cute so sweet so........ evil.

Attack ! ! !

  .

1 2 3. . .

 Love this one !

.

Not the best place to nap, he is so weird.
......

As always here is your pretty for the weekend

The very tiny cactus is blooming.
......

Winston is a very sweet puppy but he is a puppy.
I am an older, very handicapped senior and in poor health.
Yes, I said it.
The doctor just prescribed me a new med that is $1500.00
Found that out at when I went to pick it up.
Insurance paid $1000. but left me with $500. If I can't find some other discount
maybe I really do not need it. We shall see.

Anyways I feel I can not really train mandibles like I have done with all my other gud dugs.
The last puppy was thehamish and that was 16 years ago.

So I have sent him to puppy boot camp.
I had him housebroken (pretty much) before he left for camp so everything else
he will be learning in the company of two cats, several horses, a Doberman
and a Rhodesian Ridgeback.
Life is gud for a Little Square Black Dog !

.

The trainer said "They cower in his presence !" when he sent these photos.
wahahahahahahahaha.
Scotties are a hoot !
Winston will not want to come home, he is having way too much fun.
Oh well at least he is happy !

cheers,  parsnip

  1. Wild eyes on that pup.

I went to a podiatrist in June for an ingrown toenail. She trimmed all my toenails in under a minute. I just got the bill yesterday. Insurance will pay $60, I have to pay $250. If I had known that going in, I would never had it done. I would have taken a pair of scissors and cut it myself if I knew it was that simple.

    1. He will be snipped soon so that will help.
But he is really just a puppy.

  4. I don't blame you for sending Winston to boot camp. Best to let the pro handle that energetic little fella and them you can reap the benefits. Ohmigod, he is soooooo cute. (And photogenic!)

Yipes, the cost of medications is ridiculous. Can you maybe purchase it through the mail from Canada?

Have a super weekend. Labor Day's coming, so that means NO LABOR! Cheers!

  5. LOL the other side of the door is always better. Goro totally agrees with that :-) How great Winston is having fun at the puppy boot camp! I wonder if he will be less mandible when he comes back :-)

  6. I can almost smell him from your pictures. I love the smell of puppies. He'll probably be the most ornery of the bunch - give you a run for your money. Isn't it terrible about our health care? Sometimes, I think they just want to kill us oldsters off with all the paperwork and bills. I picked up a prescription last week that had been $75.00 per month and it had gone up to over $800. per month. I told them no thanks. Stuff has gotten more expensive on Medicare than it was before.

He will be gone for 3 or 4 weeks.

  7. Good idea Gayle - I worry about being too handicapped to deal with Tess and she is nine. We forget our limitations don't we?

    1. Tess needs to be with you. I wanted to cheer up thehamish but I waited too long.
Not a fan of puppies to much work and the chewing !

  8. Winston is so cute!

$500 co-pay for your meds? Yeow! I lucked out, in a way. I've had so many tests and office visits in the first six months this year, I already reached my deductible and and out of pocket amounts. I pay nothing for meds or anything else. Next year will be another story.

  9. Boot camp sounds like a great idea, do they do cats too? $500 copay is obscene.

  10. Mandibles, you have an entire world to explore. Wear yourself out so you sleep well. It will give your mom some rest. I take two medications that are quite expensive. My doctor obtained "coupons" for both of them from the pharmaceutical company. The coupons go to the pharmacy and take a lot off the price. My doctor also prescribes a ninety-day supply in one order, so I pay for ninety days' worth of the prescription as if it's for thirty days. That saves a huge amount of money. I hope your doctor knows of a way to bring down the price.

    Love,
    Janie

  11. I don't have the strength for a puppy. I give you credit for doing it. I am realizing that I have limitations and I hate it. I had to have a talk with Andre because I did what he said this week and I can barely move. I'm just not as strong as I was. Phooey. Anyway your baby is adorable hon! Bee

    1. Don't give me any credit ... brain fog is more like it.
I have finally accepted my limitation (not pretty) but your limitations are from your treatment and you will get better. I know it.

  12. Ah..sweet Winston. Me thinks a little boot camp is a grand idea. Our Buzzy has been gone for over a year and I know that thePip needs a new friend, but I just can't bring myself to get another puppy. Perhaps another rescue, older in years but, I'm not quite ready yet. Getting closer. *sigh* X

    1. Do not get a puppy...... the teeth the teeth !
Get a older rescue if you can. Here in Tucson there are not enough smaller mixed terriers that we were looking for thehamish.
The few terriers mixes here are have Chihuahua in them and that add a whole boatload of problems.
But where you live I am sure you can find some rescue group.

    2. Have you thought of having a retired breeding bitch from a breeding kennels?
When we lost one of our dogs, at the age of 15, a few years ago, we felt we were too old for a puppy. We tracked down, via the web, several retired breeding Labrador bitches from various kennels. Once we had made our choice, we actually drove a 3,000 kilometre round trip to collect her from the kennels. Petite-Chose was the most beautiful of all our dogs, but sadly we lost her at the beginning of this year. I still have Inca, who also came from a breeding kennel, but much nearer home. She is the sweetest of dogs and my constant companion.

  13. What an excellent idea. Those two sweet big dogs are obviously more than happy to take on a dear little square puppy and teach him some manners. Shocked by the cost of your meds, but if you do have the money you are certainly worth spending it on. Take care. I'll be thinking of you.

    1. He is so full of PUPPY and need to learn manners.
All my Scotties and Terriers were well trained and lovely to be around. So I want him to be a well trained happy dog.

  14. Hi, Gayle!

M.O.D. looks so innocent and cuddly in some of these pictures, but the close-ups of his fangs tell the true tale. Halloween's coming and Winston will make a great Dracula. I hope he learns to be more obedient at puppy boot camp. I'll bet he's in craft class making you a hot pan holder as we speak. :)

I admire the long spines and blooms on your tiny cactus. I'm sorry you have health challenges and were socked with a large co-pay bill, dear friend. Please take good care of yourself and enjoy the company of your frisky M.O.D.

    Have a nice weekend!

It is a Comodita (Amazon ?) and I ordered it. Much stronger than the ones at Walgreens.
I am not able to walk with out it.

  18. Dear Parsnip, I'm just on catch-up with all your news. A puppy, he looks delightful, such a lot of fun but also such hard work! Boot camp sounds a great solution!
I'm lucky here in Blighty that as a pensioner my monthly prescription is free and is even delivered to my door. The worry of medical payment can only cause stress, the last thing that anyone needs who has a medical condition. I hope a less costly solution can be found for you.

  21. Brings back memories of the early days with Bing. Would you believe he is coming up to 5! What a bundle of joy came into our world!

  22. Winston is adorable!
Definition of a door: something a dog is always the other side of!
What joy to have another little one to care for and delight in - and what lot of work!
The price of medicine is obscene here. Single payer system like most of the civilized world means prescriptions never go above $7.
Hope your health improves or at least stays stable.
