Square Dog Friday, woof !

As always the best day of the week is here.
Square Dog Friday.
So let's woof it !
....
I love my view walking through the kitchen looking out to the backyard, first thing in the morning.
This view is on the way to the studio door to let thehamish outside for his morning sniffs.
Then I make his breakfast and the start of his shots and many eye drops for the day.

 Contemplating ........

 lizzzzzzzzarrrrrrrrd
i thehamish is always watchin' for lizzzzzarrrrrds

Wednesday a two day storm zoomed in much like what our winter should be.
Temps dropped by 20 so instead of being in the high 80 we were back to the high 60's.
Heaven.

 .

oooooooooooooou yeash nice tall person who feed us
scrachies under the chinin' is gud
.

In keeping with what I started on my Wednesday post.
Today is 11 March. Five years ago the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan.
One of the things Daughter and I did to help was support a wonderful animal shelter.

Daughter wanted to do more so she would draw your dog or cat for a
donation to the animal shelter.

I was lucky to receive one too !
.....................

And as always here is your pretty to start the weekend.
Last summer I was trying to grow more in my side yard.
Where I live you have to protect all your veggies, and flowers
so I grow everything in an enclosed yard in pots.
I tried to grow some carrots , radishes and parsnips !
The parsnips and radish really didn't grow.
I was really ill for most of summer into Christmas.
So the garden just sat there. The tomatoes did fabulously.
In fact I am still getting tomatoes !
Just the other day I looked at my pots and there was new growth.

Just look at the sweet little parsnip and radish !
Lurve it !

growing. . . parsnip
music. . . Hey Let's Go, Joe Hisaishi

  1. Hi, dear Gayle!

I swear to you, that majestic mountain beyond your back yard looks like a mural painted on a building - spectacular! I was wondering if thehamish ever makes the mistake or going after a rattlesnake or a scorpion. Does he instinctively stay away from those venous creatures or aren't they much of a threat in your vicinity? How nice of you and your daughter to help support that animal shelter. I have a friend in Japan and well remember the disastrous earthquake and tsunami five years ago.

Have a great weekend, dear friend Gayle!

    1. I have there small yard snake fenced but............
We have had 3 snakes in the yard but so far they have been taken care of.
The scorpions usually are in the house are I kill them. I have a service that comes out 4 times a year and sprays around the house.

  4. Yep, you're definitely a great veggie grower! I don't think I would ever grow tired of the view from your window. Miss Kitty is a fierce lizard hunter too, maybe she and the Hamish could team up.

  5. The view from your window, and your view of the world beyond are both very beautiful. I think that I am fortunate to be able to visit here.

Hamish is a wonderful square dog, with great lizzard spotting skills.

I have several friends who live in, or often visit, Japan. I know that there are some very serious continuing aftermaths there. Thank you for your commemorating that March.

What a tender parsnip you are. xo

    1. I bought this house because of the view. If I can't live by the ocean anymore a mountain view is lovely !

  7. Wow! Your view out that window is nothing short of breathtaking. I don't think I would ever grow tired of looking at it, and would never ever take it for granite. HA!

It's hard to believe it's been five years since the tsunami already. I'll bet some areas still haven't fully recovered. Your daughter is a very talented artist. Must take after her mama.

  9. Great view as has been said many times, but what are the buildings along the foot of the hills?
In posh restaurants they pay good money for baby vegetables like yours!

Plus right where the mountains start that is Ventana Canyon Resort. I have stayed there, very nice and posh !

  11. The view from your home is really incredible. Such vast, beautiful scenery! And your grass is so green and pretty. We have a teeny tiny garden area but grass never grows well. How sweet of your daughter and you to support animal shelter. I love your daughter's drawing. It's so pretty and she is very talented!

  12. How wonderful to live among scenery like this! And we had a lizard on our car the other day. I watched it crawl down the front fender and jump into a nearby bush! The Hamish would have liked that!
