parley view parsnip. . . just some stuff

Still playing catch up.
I have had a few set backs, so I am behind.
The month of November  when I usually have my cards done and the package for Japan
wrapped and ready to go. Just is not happening this year.
I had to make some changes to the cards and now I am printing, folding and cutting
them all.  Oh My Goodness !

So here are just a few photos for a Monday.

And of course just because I can
here is you pretty for the beginning of the week.

I have a very small crop of Tangelos this year.
Lost so many blooms in the spring.
But my Grapefruit tree went crazy with fruit.
We might have some freezing temps tonight (two months early)
so I need to pick as much fruit as I can.

  4. Mine are so old over 50 years.
I lost half of them in a really bad freeze about 5 years ago, had to chop down several. Broke my heart.
It got down to 18 unheard of in Tucson. My poor little grove of trees.
Our weather is so mixed up. It is never this cold in November or even December.

  5. Lovely photos parsnip. I have never heard of a tangelo, presuming it is a tangerine type fruit?

    1. Tangelos are a cross of a tangerine and grapefruit or pomelo. I think more pomelo.
They peel easy and are so sweet and juicy.
Sometimes they are called Honeybells but my friend in Florida said they are a complete different fruit. All I know is that they are fabulous.
My tree is so old and nothing like the one it was before the horrific freeze. It was so huge it took over the space of the sweet orange tree next to it and they have grown together.

  7. Your Jack Rabbit has arrived this morning - his long ears are amazing. Thank you so much - it has pride of place in my card collection on the kitchen shelf and will go into my next collection. I am thrilled to bits with it - nothing in my collection so far has ears like that!
Lovely to see Hamish cuddling his toy in your photographs. Perhaps it is helping him to get over losing his best mate.

    1. I have cotton tails around my home. But just walk out into the foothills and you can see the jackrabbit.
Son took a fabulous photo of one a few years ago. I will try to find his photo.

  8. What a great toy Hamish has. He looks content with it. I am impressed with the photos of the clouds in the landscape pictures. What a beautyful light you captured there. And those fruits are lovely. Lots of vitamines.
    Take care Parsnip,
    Regards,
    Roos

    1. We take that one away and put it up on my work table. So it is more fun to play with when it comes down.
