Monday in Tucson.

Spring is here too soon, blue skies, sun, everything starting the bloom.

Sounds great but February is our winter.  

Every few days the rain we need in the valley, snow in the mountains. 

Then sun and blue skies for a few days. 

But we are starting spring too early, we need more rain.

Well here it is again the best day of the week.

thehamish before his appointment with History !

At least in his mind

.

He went for his appointment with the specialist and all turned out great.

His insides are looking good and he does not have Cushing.

Yea !

But we still don't know why he is having these episodes.

I think it might have something to do with his diabetes or his eyes 

but I just don't know.

So I am now tracking his time between his insulin shots.

The vet wants 12 hours between shots which can be very hard on him and me.

He is on a Gastro Intestinal Low Fat canned dog food,

to keep his peritonitis under control but he gets very hungry by dinner time.

He is on a limited diet and has few choices for any extras, not even carrots !

thehamish loves carrots, he is a little bun bun.

He was still somewhat drugged when we picked him up.

....

He was quite miffed and he wouldn't look at me.

.

I think it was because when I dropped him off early at the Vet he stood there head down

as I was talking to the assistant. He looked at her, looked at me and then walked to the door. 

He stood there touching the door with the top of his head. 

He wanted to go home, he was not very happy.

It was so sad, I was in tears when I saw that.

A few days before  the doctors visit 

I was sitting outside with him playing a easy game of toss.

Suddenly he became Adventure Dog !

It is very warm here about 84/56. Not our typical February.

This is the cold month that we usually get our winter rain.

But right now it is spring weather and I want rain !

The nice part of this weather is we have had some wonderful sunsets.

thehamish is somewhat better.

On the 18 he will be getting a new ultra sound and then his doctor and the specialist 

with check out what the heck is going on in that sweet but messed up body.

Long time reader know his litany of health problems.

I will post the news next Friday.

Square Dog Friday is the best day of the week.

So here we go, let's woof it.

she is with nice tall person who plays with us and moved to a home in snow

i thehamish has been in snow it is ok sort' of

not sure i thehamish wants to live in snow

she had a very bad life till nice tall person who plays with us found her.

This is the part in my blog when I have a pretty to start the weekend.

But we have had (again) some bad news.
thehamish suddenly has another taken a turn for the worst.
He is back home with us right now but...
He has episodes that used to be a few times a years but  now are coming
much closer together.
He woke me up early this morning and I let him out then we went back to bed.
He wouldn't eat anything and had bloody poo.
We got him into his vet and we are on hold till the next set of test results come in.
Will not kid around like I usually do, it is not good.

As you see I cooked some chicken and he did eat the chicken
in his little nest on the sofa in my studio and drink the broth.
It has been a hard day.

thehamish has been having a very hard time since Watson died and he still missing him.
He is so sad, just not the same thehamish that he was.
He always bounces back from these episodes but not now.
The last one was three weeks ago.

I am not sure this time he wants to get better.

.
I found two dogs to look at this weekend and possibly adopt so he would have a friend.
Thought he would feel better having another gud dug around.
I just don't know what to do now.
I guess that looking at gud dugs has to be put on hold
but one is very special and needs a home.

I will not be posting for awhile till we get everything figured out.
But I will be reading your blogs when I have the time.

Wednesday in Japan maybe.

Just a quick post today.

This is my third post this week, WOW I don't know how the bloggers 

who post every day do it.  But I am so slow, that might be my problem.

Not back in Japan yet but I can still have a taste of Japan.

 Last night I made Mazemen's Ramen Noodles with Sesame Ginger Garlic Beef

and  Egg.

 Also made Gomaae  no moto

This is a sesame sauce or dressing more dry than wet that is served over green beans, broccolini or spinach. The Japanese Korean restaurant we go to serves in on a cooked spinach that is so good.

And as always here is your mid-week pretty.

The very cold storm that blew in Sunday night and Monday 

dropped clouds, snow and some rain on Tucson.

But Tuesday the clouds has gone and the day as sunny cold.

As I walked from the bedroom to the kitchen I passed through the living/dining room.

It looked so sunny and bright that I took a few photos.

Today, it is Groundhog Day in America,

it is also my oldest Son's Birthday.

If you have to share your Birthday with a Holiday I think this is a great one.

Just a silly, funny holiday.

A few photos of this and that.

 On Friday I made Gyudon, a Donburi type of rice bowl.

Gyudon has thin sliced beef and onions with a sweet sauce served over rice topped with pickled red ginger.

I didn't want to take time to make any dashi for the sauce. I just used some chicken broth.
Added some tiny sweet red peppers to the beef and onions to fluff it up. 

I didn't have any pickled red ginger but I did have some shishito peppers. 

Just a quick saute and added them to the bowl.

So fast and super tasty.

Sunday afternoon the winds picked up as a cold front zoomed down on Tucson. 

Rain and snow will be here Sunday night to Monday morning. 

The storm is pulling in some very cold temps with hard freeze warning for Tuesday night.

 Before Daughter drove across the U.S. for her new job/ internship she was looking for a few things stored at my home. This jacket was one of them. When she put it down on sofa in the studio guess who curled up and fell asleep on it. 

When thehamish sees any sort of packing unpacking he know something is happening 

that he does not like. He gets very upset.

But I made sure he had some fun time playing with his giggle ball.
