parley view parsnip. . . wish the force was with me !

Monday is here, so much to do and so little time.
.
First
My comments on the New Star War movie.

.
I really can not write anything that hasn't been said already.
But my take away from the movie is, "The Whiny" is as strong as
"The Force" in the male branch of the Darth Varder clan.
The women of this family seem to be strong in "The Force" but also common sense !
Anakin was nothing more than a whiny, violent, bully, brat with self control issues.
Luke was a whiny self centered teen who grew up somewhat
but lacked again the common sense.
Then comes Kylo Ren who has the cool outfit but can't control
"The Force" and is a throwback to the whiny out of control Anakin.
Yikes !

It is like the story of the Three Wise Women that has been floating around.
If the Three Wise Men were Women,
They would have asked for directions,
gotten to the stable on time,
helped with the birth
cleaned up the sable
feed the animals
made dinner with leftovers for later
and have been gone before the "Three Wise Men got there !
.
But really loved the movie it was terrific. Can not wait to see it again.
We have a nice balance of old and new characters, that help the story line along.
.
Second.
Tucson is now in our winter weather.
The temps are about ten degrees difference from where we should be but all in all rather nice.
Rain and snow for a few days then sunny blue sky with
fluffy clouds. Then we start all over again.

    1. Yes they do call to me because of my childhood I walked all over these foothills and mountains. Plus all the wildlife I see everyday.

Thank you for your kind comment on my post about Claude. And I did realise that was a typo (didn't). We miss him waiting every morning for his breakfast and think of him a lot. Thanks again.

  6. Hi, dear Gayle!

I'm glad you liked Star Wars. I laughed at your Three Wise Women piece and forwarded it to Mrs. Shady. Those pictures taken through your back window are spectacular. I love your golden barrel cactus! I have a collection of cacti and succulents myself. God bless he thehamish!

  7. Beautiful view out your window. Just never could get into Star Wars, saw the first couple, but eh, they were just ok. But Wookies are wonderful.

  8. Lovely views.
Thanks for the review of Star Wars. Can you believe that I still have my "May The Force BE With YOu" button? I bought it at the movie theatre in 1977. I had a feeling it would be big. I am always right but no one listens to me.

  9. Glad you enjoyed the movie despite all the whiny :-)
I love the views from your windows! I especially love the photos of Sunday sunset. What amazing colors!
It seems like we'll have sunny days this week. But very, very cold!

    Have a wonderful week!

  10. Whiny men definitely run in the Skywalker family! Personally, I always thought Leia should have been the one to become a Jedi.

  13. Are you on the edge of a town and looking to those wonderful hills or are you really in the middle of it all? Sorry to be nosey. I wont ask how close are you to civilization, but you know what I mean. Food stores/Drs/Vets and the like.

    1. I live in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains and I look over the city of Tucson from my home.
Sometimes it will snow at my home but it melts fast.
I live in the country, but my neighborhood has many home but we are all over the hilly area. Lots of land around most of our homes with tiny yards. I leave mine wild except for a small yard for The Square Ones and a pool for me. Just down the street there is a shopping area and several outstanding restaurants. But from my home you would not know it. I have a small grove of citrus trees that my wild animals from mountain lions, bobcats, javelinas and lots of other critters and birds visit. I am about 15 to 20 minutes
from almost everything I want to go to and no rush hour traffic.
I will take a mosey around my land for one post.

    2. Thanks for that. Look forward to a mosey!

    1. Winter is fabulous here even with the 2 very cold snaps from Canada that diped down and killed off much of my citrus grove

    1. I love La Quita so much I loved going there.
I also loved old Palm Springs and should have checked it out before I moved to Tucson. All my friend would have had an easier time to visit. but it is so cheap to live here. and I love the weather.

  16. Well.....I finally got to see Star Wars movie (Yay!) and I was very entertained. It was like visiting old friends and making some new ones along the way. I loved how they combined old and new and I fell in love with the new droid BB-8. I have to say, you were spot on with your critique of the movie....the women were the smart ones! I loved the guys but they were a little on the "whiney" side.

    2. Well, I did bring home the little wookie and the Kylo Ren figures but, one of my dogs chewed up the wookie already and the other one is scared of Kylo Ren! Ugh!

  17. Yeah, Skywalker men seem to have a Dark Side issue that the women don't have. What's up with that?
