Goodness, here it is Friday again.
The days are just flying by. I want to catch them and hold them close
but they slip through my hands with fingers trying to hold tight.
I can't believe it is November.
But back to Square Dog Friday.
Here is gud dug thehamish.
See his left eye, looking good, right ?
WRONG !
.
About 7 years ago thehamish became a diabetic, 2 insulin shots a day,
and was losing his vision. He then had lens replacement on both eyes.
Oh my sweet baboo.
He was such a gud dug.
So many pills and eye drops and staying quiet. No jarring or running into anything.
.
thehamish could walk outside to potty but had to wear the "cone of shame."
.
More eye drops, and pills
.
After about 2 months then the cone could come off.
But he still had to be quiet. No running or jarring of his head.
During all this time Dr. Watson slept by him.
For years my day revolves around his eye drops and insulin shots.
And his eyes got better.
He still has five eye drops, ointment and of course his two insulin shots.
.
Having his tear production checked.
We have to be so careful that his eyes do not dry out.
..........
And then came the bad news.
When thehamish had the lens replacement he was put on steroids.
A must for this type of surgery.
But it also can cause problems with deposits under the lens.
His left eye has a big crystal build up. We have been treating it for about a year now.
But the deposits are starting to poke through the lens.
He is now on 2 new drops twice a day plus 4 of the old drops.
We see the doctor every two weeks.
.
My sweet thehamish such a gud dug.
But through this all he is a trooper and still a super happy dog.
He is a hoot !
.
The last of the Halloween posts.
Here is Watson with his favorite Halloween toy.
And of course thehamish.
.
Attack !
There was a pink one but as you know they always want the same one.
.
Love this photo of thehamish !
