Just another day in New Zealand !

It seems every time Son takes a class to Christchurch it turns into
a day when we lived in Laguna Beach, California.

Last year he took his class on a day off to learn how to surf.
When some of the class was surfing the ones on the beach felt and saw the hillside
drop into the ocean and beach The earthquake was centered
right by them.
.
Last night he "Lined" me that there is a huge fire  near them.
It looks just like the wildfire that destroyed our home in a wildfire that was set in Laguna Beach.
All these photos are from the computer, somewhat blurry but they look just like the ones
from Laguna Beach. He said it feels and smells just like the fire we lived through.

This looks just like the one I posted last year from a fire near my home in Tucson, Arizona.

Just like the view from my home (before it burned) in Laguna Beach.

Hope it comes under control soon.

............

As always just because I can,
here is your mid week pretty.

 Hedgehog cuteness.
Now this makes me want to move to New Zealand  right now !
Plus he always sends me photos of Parsnips !

  1. We have lots if wildfires in OK too. Most of them are started by ranchers wanting to get more grazing for their cattle, but they often get out of hand. That and much wildlife is lost too. We keep ours mowed around the perimeter of our farm, but if it jumps, the flames can get 30 or more feet high.

  2. How horrible to have your house burn down, we often worried when we lived in California. in fact I worried more about fires than earthquakes.
That's a rather different looking hedgehog.

  3. Oh gosh, I'm sorry the area is suffering from fire. I hope it will be put under control soon.
That hedgehog is very pretty! He looks like a ball of fur :-) I'd love to visit New Zealand someday. Great photo of parsnip! Have a wonderful day!!

  4. That is bad luck. I think they are evacuating all areas that might be affected, though.

  5. Fires. Floods. Earthquakes. Mass animal deaths. All signs that Yeshua is coming soon. Hugs to you and the Hamish!
