I was born in the year of the Boar,
I love them always have.
In the Sonoran Desert we have Javelinas. They look like Boars but they are
Collared Peccaries (related to the Hippopotamus, woohoo)
They are my people my tribe.
I love them.
Here is a Javelina in my yard
And here is a very tiny Japanese boar that son found for me on his trips.
It is a phone charm so very tiny and so kawaii !
He also brought back a temple charm with a boar embroidered on it.

Here is your pretty for Wednesday
The Texas Sage/Rangers are blooming all over Tucson.
July during the monsoons is their month.
Three different shades of lavender to purple.
By the gas station
Again picasa had dulled the colors. These plants are intensely colored.

I might be somewhat sporadic in my posting and commenting for the next few days.
I am getting used to two new meds that make me nauseous, fatigued and my brain
(what is left of it) hurt.

ReplyDeleteLove your boars - and your local equivalent.

How lovely to see the javelinas. I adore them too. What a cute little boar charm your son gave you! And thanks for posting those purple blooms. That I something I've never seen (since we tend to avoid Tucson in July). Hope you adjust to the new meds and that they are helpful to you.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Joanna
Wow, that is a beautiful looking animal.
ReplyDeleteGet your rest!
ReplyDeleteThe javelina looks quite confident.
Neat combo: a sweet-looking javelina (in your yard!) and sweet-smelling sage. It does smell sweet, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteSorry for the trouble with the new meds. I hope you feel better soon.
Thank You everyone for you kind words.
ReplyDeletecheers, gayle
Whatever he is, he's cute!
ReplyDeleteYou live in an incredibly beautiful place, Gayle!
Blooming in our yard too, but unfortunately the little birds eat most of the buds before they open. At least it's fun watching the birds hop around the bushes.
ReplyDeleteI love the Javelinas too!
ReplyDeleteOh, p, I love kawaii as much as you do! I was born in the year of the tiger. When we went to Hawai'i last year, a Japanese artist was selling diminutive cards with her watercolor illustrations of each 'year' and I bought the tiger for me and the monkey for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteI love the utter uniqueness of your posts and your vision, friend. Coming here is like a refreshing spring.
The boars are cute. Are you a Hello Kitty fan? I've seen HK phone charms based on the Chinese zodiac. I've thought of them for my daughter but she's grown out of that phase.
ReplyDeleteThe javelin has a friendly face.
ReplyDeleteIs the sage usable in cooking?
