Lovely daughter came over and cooked this fabulous meal for me.
Her take on a Japanese, vegetarian rice noodle dish and a Vietnamese Pho Rau Dau Hu.
Homemade quick pickled onions, radish and carrots with cucumbers, marinaded fried tofu, rice sticks (bihon vermicelli) that she tossed with a banh mi type of sauce.

And if Japanese/Vietnamese fusion wasn't enough she added this great Korean red pepper paste to her Banh Mi sauce.
Hello, so good. I was in heven.
I could eat this everyday.

Here is your pretty for mid-week.
Found at my market, three little pots of 'Bulbs".
No name so I don't know what they are but I can imagine that in Yorkshire where Weaver lives they are growing everywhere and consider a weed !
No Parsnip they are nowhere near out up here in Yorkshire and won't be for another six weeks or so - we still have snow. They are muscari - common name here is Grape Hyacinths. They spread rapidly and make a carpet of blue in the garden.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so lovely. Our blue Lupine does that here.
DeleteI rather like them... even if Yorkshire folk think of them as a weed.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if they think if them as weeds but I assume that they grow the way Weaver said. Probably invasive ?
ReplyDeleteBut so lovely.
cheers, parsnip
Dinner looked great. Although, I wouldn't be able to eat the tofu. Allergic. I could make the other stuff.
ReplyDeleteHugs and chocolate,
Shelly
How are your boys?
Nice to have a drive by cook like that.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness the boys are doing better. I love red pepper paste. Yum. I love red peppers, green peppers, chili peppers, jalapeno peppers etc. Peppers are great!
ReplyDeleteMy Granny used to have a carpet of Grape Hyacinths in her garden and they do spread like crazy. I like them too now I'm older but didn't when I was younger....not sure why. So glad the square ones are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThe grape hyacinths look just right for the setting there in your home! Quite the picturesque plate of food - the presentation certainly becomes part of the taste.
ReplyDelete«Louis» will check back later for a Square Black Dog® update...
GRAPE HYACINTHS!
