Wednesday on Japan... sake

Quick Wednesday post with some of my collection of sake bottles.
A quick run in to a Lawsons or a 7 11 (so much better than the U.S. ones)
really a true convenience store,  grab some sushi or a bento and a one cup sake.

 all shapes sizes.

Some come with their very own cups.
Since I don't drink I buy them for the cute bottles.
Or my Japanese Son will send me some of the cute ones he finds.
I just noticed some of these are so old I need to pour out the contents.

Some of these you have when ordering dinner.
 Love the colors.
....
.
I keep adding to the larger sake bottles
when I find one I like.

And here is your mid week pretty
Watson and thehamish

  3. How beautiful. I never realised sake came in all those wonderful bottles until we visited a sake shop in Kanazawa. I would have been happy to take two dozen bottles home! (although I actually don't like the taste of sake much) :)

    1. I don't drink, too many drugs, but there are several different kinds.
When we eat sushi I will always have a sip of my sons. it just seems to heighten the flavors.
A perfect match. But it I was just to drink it... no.

  4. Cool bottles but for me, being a prep cook, I gotta say, I love how clean your kitchen is.

    1. My kitchen is always clean. Not stuff on the counters hahahaha as I show pictures of the bottles.
But they are not in the way. Plus it is Tucson and everything gets dusty. Whip clean and good to go.

    2. I could not live with so much dust.

My kitchen is clean, but it is also my office where I write formulas. My counters have items I use daily. And I have a prep station.

    1. Thanks me too !
When I moved in I fluffed up the kitchen.
I had glass put in the cabinets, new counter top and added some new appliances.
      Plus put tile everywhere.

  7. I've tried Sake, but it was a long time ago, when I wasn't on so much medication.

You have a beautiful kitchen...and beautiful companions there!

  8. Never tried sake, but don't think it would be much to my taste. Do like the bottles though.

  9. The sake bottles are very pretty. I love your display of those bottles!
I'm not a big fan of taste of sake, but I tried citrus flavored sake once and it was pretty good :-)

P.S. I like to use coconut oil because of many health benefits plus Niko loves it, but I should try olive oil next time!

    1. Son uses coconut oil in his cooking. I think I should try it for the chicken I cook for the dogs.
Your kitties seem to like it,

  10. I had no idea that the sake bottles were from Lawsons - and so pretty. Lawsons was THE store to get bread, milk and deli stuff when I lived in NE Ohio.
