Sensei David has been teaching at University in Japan.
But for a few years he has changed offices.
He is the first non-Japanese to head the department of
University International Exchange at his school.
His University has an exchange program/schools in New Zealand and Australia.
He is traveling quite a lot and for now enjoys it.
When he completes his Masters he will go back into teaching.
..............
And just because I can, here is your mid week pretty.
Daughter made Vegetarian Pad Thai

THe Pad Thai looks yummy. Your granddaughter is a little doll.
ReplyDeleteHugs and chocolate!
She is super smart plus a real cutie.
DeleteGreat pictures, no octopus thank you. My daughter, who loves to eat exotic food, just tried pickled squid, and says not again. I'm afraid eat nothing very exotic.
ReplyDeleteummmmm octopus. Tell her to try takoyaki. She will love it.
DeletePlus squid salad. Super thin shavings of squid over cucumbers in a sweet vinegar.
So good.
How different the food is from what we eat here - I must say that it looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteYour Sunday dinner sounded so good to me.
DeleteThat first day at school pic is classic Parsnip! Just wonderful. x
ReplyDeleteIsn't that just the best. I had misty eyes looking at that.
DeleteYour granddaughter is adorable. So is her daddy.
ReplyDeleteIsn't he just the cutest !
DeleteYou are such an adventurer with food. I envy you. Now, because I am hungry and no octopus is handy, I am going to fry a pork chop.
ReplyDeleteBut I love pork chops !
DeleteYes, please.
Good for your son!
ReplyDeleteHe works very hard.
DeleteDid it all taste good? What was the best?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Daughter and both Sons are fabulous cooks.
DeleteI am very lucky.
Totoro wind chime is so cute! What a fun you made takoyaki at the table. When I was in college, I worked part-time at a store where I made takoyaki. I enjoyed it :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of sensei David when he was a child. Such cute smile! What a great accomplishment to have become the first non-Japanese head of department!
Pad Thai looks yummy! Have a great day!
You are my hero....
DeleteYou made takoyaki !
I love to watch them make it turning the ball over and coming out so tasty.
The best takoyaki I ever had was bought under the Osaka Tower
What a adorable model your granddaughter is with such a pretty hat. First schoolday photo of your son so cute. And great that he is doing so well in his job. The food looks great.
ReplyDeleteI love fish but refuse to eat in particular Tuna. Not because I don't like it but because of overfishing and exploiting the seas but that is an different subject, sorry. The takoyaki looks very delicious.
Oh I so agree with you on the tuna and I never eat shark fin soup either.
DeleteWe all need to be better parents to our world.
Her parents are always getting offers to have her model, they always say no.
She has the "look" they like, half Japanese/American plus she is very animated.
They only did this campaign because it is a friends company.
I loved all the different foods. What a traveler. I wish I could enjoy the food from Japan. Congratulation for your son being a professor at the University of Japan. Have a wonderful day. See ya.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
