Squard Dog Friday

Best day of the week is here,
Square Dog Friday !
We all know the drill so lets woof it.
..............
The Square Ones are on very strict diets.
Very low/no fat.
I grate lots of carrots and chopped green bean to add
to the wet and dry food they eat.
They have always loved carrots to chomp on for snacks.
I am holding a carrot for Watson.
ummmm yum.

Is that a yummy carrot I see in your hand,
nice tall person who feeds us ?
Under my work table are two places for the Square Ones to nap in.
I call it the condo.
,
Yes please I would enjoy eating a carrot.
Watson is so polite.

 ummmmureryurff
 i thehamish is likin' carots.
.
 gud gud gud carrots !
.

I use to have this basket on my porch for a kitty that we took in
When I lived in Laguna Beach.
Jabba rarely napped in it but it was there for him.
Now it is in my bathroom under a counter.
When I brush my teeth at night Watson will slowly crawl in
and wait till I am finished.
.
 .

 .

 Gud Dug Watson.
I lurve him.

.....................
And now just because I can here your pretty
for the start of the weekend.

Wonder friend Tamago  just came back from a trip to Japan.
And look what she sent to me !
TOTORO !
Thank You super nice friend.
I will even re-use the pink plastic bag
.
Some clouds in the sky that I tried to make look more like what was there.
But really did not succeed.
Still it was fun to try to capture the colors that I get to see most evenings.
carrot. . . parsnip
music. . . Cloud Age Symphony,  Okino Shuntaro

  1. Watson in a kitty basket is adorable. Such cozy places you have made for the boys to take their naps in and feel safe. Spring has finally arrived in NH. The lilacs are out in full force and the entire world smells softly of perfume today...heaven! Later we'll be off to the ocean, to smell the salt air and let the dawgs go run, run, run, run, run on the beach. Double heaven. Wishing you a wonderful weekend too Gayle. Hugs.

  2. So cute. Our pups LOVE carrots but they are two picky girls. Seriously, no lie, they will only eat organic carrots. Which, I agree with, so it's all good.

    1. PS: I bought a small package of on sale non-organic carrots and both pups would not it them.

    3. There's a big difference in taste (here anyway), so I don't blame them.

    4. I so understand. When you eat a good carrot you know the difference.
My spoiled boys will only drink the the filtered water from the frig when inside
but then go outside and lap it up off the patio ?

  4. I love seeing Watson's face in the opening of the basket. I would like to be small enough to crawl in with him. The late great smooth collie Faulkner enjoyed many fruits and vegetables, including carrots.

    Love,
    Janie

  8. They do stick close to you, don't they, Gayle?

They eat carrots? None of our dogs would ever even look at veggies.

    1. Yes I am their Mum who feeds them and takes care of them.
thehamish is a true mummy's boy. Until a few years ago he was always stuck like glue to me. so close that I used to trip over him.
I once tripped over him and smashed into a wall and sliding glass door. Two cracked teeth and a bruised shoulder.
Now he will follow me a foot or two behind me. Thank goodness.

  11. Doesn't Watson look sad in that little basket, waiting for you to finish cleaning your teeth?
I do hope that the health of both Square Ones has improved in the ten days I have been away. Hug them both from me.

    1. He lookes sad but he is very happy. But sometimes he forgets where he is or what year it is.
He and his cat Jabba were very good friends and I think sometimes he remembers him.

    1. We are getting ready for monsoons and off and on clouds are outstanding.
But although this month our weather has been fabulous in the 80's
we are 10 degrees to cool. We need the correct amount of hot hot days and the right dew point.
I am worried our temps will not be right and we will not get any rain.

    2. Desert rain... So poetic. I hope you get rain soon.

  14. I never heard of a dog who ate carrots. Very cool! Years ago, we had a toy Manchester/chihuahua mix, who loved beef stew, so she would eat cooked carrots. But she would oh-so-neatly spit out all the peas in a line on the floor.

Watson looks absolutely adorable in that kitty bed.

    1. I love that your dog spit out the peas !
Our dogs are so funny and aren't we lucky that we can have the wisdom to enjoy them.

  15. I never knew dogs liked carrots! Your square ones must be quite unusual!
I have a Totoro cloth, too. I was not quite sure what to use it for (Japanese people must have some idea but I thought it might be a bit rude to ask) but now I am using it to put under the keyboard when I type and it stops it slipping around.

    1. Japanese use hand towels to wipe their hands.
I always have one in my purse to wipe my hands after washing them in the public bathroom instead of using paper towels.
I have a huge collection and everyday when I go out I put a clean one in my bag, men just put them in their pockets.
After so many trips to Japan I have so many that I have then in the guest bath to use and then toss in a basket.
I wash them fold and reuse.
I think lots of dog like carrots.
Started mine on carrots when they were teething.
Great for keeping them busy and not chewing on things they shouldn't.
