Still playing catch up.
But The Square Ones and I found some time to do some gardening.
.
Time to open up the shade cloth so the plants will get more sun.
The vegetable plants have to stay in the protected side yard that is covered in
screen so the critters can't get in and eat everything. Because they will !
They climb over the walls or dig under.
They devoured my garden three years ago. And then dug it up.
Naughty.

Watson and thehamish on guard duty.

yesh i thehamish is planting chkikin' strips they gud

.
On guard duty
.
Carrots and chicken strips
Watermelon radishes and parsnips.
With thehamish's new pancreatic diet,
no fats plus food that can be tolerated by his diabetes,
liver and bladder problems, it is a huge undertaking.
Thank goodness both he and Watson love carrots.
So every meal they both get grated carrots and chopped green beans
added to their meals, to add bulk.
Plus they still can have homemade chicken strips.
...............
Here is your pretty to start the week.

I love seeing your boys guarding and gardening. Busy square black dogs! I think Flossy would love her garden to grow chicken strips too! Lovely pictures of Hamish and Watson. Give them an extra chicken strip from me, please! Lx
ReplyDeleteYes they are very busy guarding till they want to come in !
DeleteMaking their chicken strips right now.
Your puppies are good little gardners. Love them.
ReplyDeleteToday, I put together a veggie lasgne with my zuchinni and Swiss chard from my garden. Also made basil and mint pesto. That was yummy on some quinoa chips.
This sounds so good !
DeleteDid you make or buy the quinoa chips.
How do you get them to pose like that? They're sooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThey will stay were I say but small little treats before during and after helps. FUD is GUD !
DeleteSometimes they are more animated and Watson always looks down.
I took about 25 photos and deleted about 15.
What good guard dogs! A relative's terriers love love love veggies! They stay underfoot in the kitchen, waiting for a slice of cucumber or stalk of celery or chunk of zucchini to be dropped.
ReplyDeleteThey like veggies but some more than others.
DeleteForgot to say they love asparagus !
DeleteWe once had a cat who was really into greens. It was dangerous leaving a bag of groceries on the floor too long, lest she get into the lettuce. Odd.
ReplyDeleteMy friend had a cat who loved cheese.
DeleteWhen Watson and thehamish are side-by-side, they remind of the majestic stone lions at the New York Public Library.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Now either I tell them what you said and they will own it as truth.
DeleteOr I keep it from them so thehamish head doesn't get any bigger.
Watson is so mellow he will just smile thank you and go back to being a gud dug !
Watson (16) is a brindle Scotty and thehamish(12) is a westie/scotty mix.
I think you should tell them. Let thehamish bask in his glory.
DeleteWatson and thehamish are such gud guard dugs! I hope the veggie plants and chkikin' strips will grow big. Your boys are very lucky to get fresh veggies right from the pot I love your illustrations, they are very pretty! I especially love the carrot and that it's got many colors, even blue :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful new week xoxo
The carrots are kaleidoscope carrots. They come in many colors not just orange.
DeleteCan't wait to see them them when grown.
I had a lot of fun drawing those.
This is fun to see Watson and thehamish beeing such good watch dogs. I love the labels you made!!!!!
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Roos
Thank You, I had fum making them.
DeleteHamish looks like he may be doing more reaping than sowing in that picture (3rd from the top)
ReplyDeletethehamish is very food conscious right now.
DeleteHe is on a strict diet and I think he gets hungry.
So I think he thought a treat might be there.
I love your garden signs!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI love my art but lately so much going on I don't get to it.
Plus I have 3 of my own book to illustrate.
