parley view parsnip. . . what day is it ?

Still playing catch up.
But The Square Ones and I found some time to do some gardening.
.
Time to open up the shade cloth so the plants will get more sun.
The vegetable plants have to stay in the protected side yard that is covered in
screen so the critters can't get in and eat everything. Because they will !
They climb over the walls or dig under.
They devoured my garden three years ago.  And then dug it up.
Naughty.

Carrots and chicken strips

 Watermelon radishes and parsnips.

With thehamish's new pancreatic diet,
no fats plus food that can be tolerated by his diabetes,
liver and bladder problems, it is a huge undertaking.
Thank goodness both he and Watson love carrots.
So every meal they both get grated carrots and chopped green beans
added to their meals, to add bulk.
Plus they still can have homemade chicken strips.
...............

Here is your pretty to start the week.
Some gardening photos from a few years ago.

  1. I love seeing your boys guarding and gardening. Busy square black dogs! I think Flossy would love her garden to grow chicken strips too! Lovely pictures of Hamish and Watson. Give them an extra chicken strip from me, please! Lx

  2. Your puppies are good little gardners. Love them.

Today, I put together a veggie lasgne with my zuchinni and Swiss chard from my garden. Also made basil and mint pesto. That was yummy on some quinoa chips.

Sometimes they are more animated and Watson always looks down.

  4. What good guard dogs! A relative's terriers love love love veggies! They stay underfoot in the kitchen, waiting for a slice of cucumber or stalk of celery or chunk of zucchini to be dropped.

  5. We once had a cat who was really into greens. It was dangerous leaving a bag of groceries on the floor too long, lest she get into the lettuce. Odd.

  6. When Watson and thehamish are side-by-side, they remind of the majestic stone lions at the New York Public Library.

    1. Now either I tell them what you said and they will own it as truth.
Or I keep it from them so thehamish head doesn't get any bigger.
Watson is so mellow he will just smile thank you and go back to being a gud dug !

      Watson (16) is a brindle Scotty and thehamish(12) is a westie/scotty mix.

    1. thehamish is very food conscious right now.
He is on a strict diet and I think he gets hungry.
So I think he thought a treat might be there.
