Wednesday In Japan...

My Wednesday post about my life in Japan.

Wonderful thin crispy crackers flavored lightly soy and ground black pepper topping.
So much ground black pepper and so good

I have mentioned may times my love for Japanese package design and this package is one is one to save.
I will either frame the package, use it for gift wrap or send it as a post card.
Love the monk who is taking a break from studying. We should all be so lucky.

  1. I was just thinking of a postcard made from this packaging. You can see I'm on the same wavelength from my last post.

  2. Hello:
We wonder what a monk and small crunchy crackers have got in common......perhaps it is only so in Japan?!!!

The packaging is indeed pretty. We await what your creative mind will construct!!

  3. I love product packaging from all manner of places, and yours is a keeper, for sure! My blog friend Doozyanner (you can locate her on my blog sidebar as "I've Been Thinking About . . ")recently moved to teach in Abu Dhabi for two years. She's scouting some paper ephemera for me in Arabic. Can't wait to work with that! Thanks for sharing, Parsnip. I wish I had some of the crackers for lunch about now.

  7. Very excellent packaging. I'm sure the crackers are delicious too. It's only recently that I've developed a real appreciation for black pepper. I'm sure I would enjoy those. I certainly enjoy your posts on Japan.

The bag is big enough to put a small gift in but I am leaning towards framing and hanging it in my pantry.

I am not a huge fan of black pepper, sometimes it can be bitter but these crackers are very good.

  9. Chomping on that cracker, that monk looks like he's finally reached Nirvana.

I like the simple linework of that drawing.

  12. It's great that you fully appreciate both the article and the design. Some people would scoff the goodies and bin the wrapping without a second thought.
