Oliver is so weird.

Some smoke filled sunset clouds looking west from my back yard.
The Burro Fire is east and the Frye Fire is south.
Lots of smoke in the air from the fires.

This is a Haworthia that sends out a super long flower stems.
It really has a mind of it's own.
I have  Zebra plant who sent out 5 stems once. It was like Alien tentacles wanted to take
over Earth or at lest my home.
Daughter's flatmates gave me this one for my Birthday.

I miss Watson sitting there and looking out on his yard.

As always here is your pretty to start the weekend.

  2. The last shot of Hamish is my favourite.

I hope the fire fighters in that area come through the season safe. It's incredibly dangerous, but needed.

    1. My Brother use to take a crew and jump into hell like this. Firefighters are amazing. The ones from other states are having the worst time. It is 118 and they are in the heat and wind battling the fires. All the states send firefighters to help each other.
Rain helps but the summer monsoons also bring lighting strikes with start more fires. Then the stupid people who start them. argh !

  3. Hamish is the best ! Every photo of the gud dug are special - he's so handsome.
Smoke on the horizon is frightening at this time of year. We have many fires here, and many of them are started deliberately. This evening though, we have heavy rain, and are very glad to see it.

    1. Goodness what didn't I do. I have worked for most Card Companies.
I did big paintings, ceramics had my own kiln, mosaics and specialty tiles but as my hand and eye coordination and sight is now going bad I don't do this.
Use to make cards for my old clients and friends, with torn paper, drawings or photos, for the holidays but not so much anymore for me NO more deadlines.
I like make small hand made books with my haikus with photos or drawings.

    2. Gayle, you sound just like me in that to do one thing only would be boring after awhile. I just never knew if you were an artist and wondered. I never call myself an artist because I don't make a living at it. I've sold pieces at a few shows, had art in the giftshop of the Gilcrease Museum and here and there. I am trying to still get unpacked in the studio to start large oils, but I am really into crystals now and thinking about jewelry. I want so to go to the Tucson show but can't leave my weenies for such a long time. Most time that I'm away from them now is from 9am-3pm and that is rare.

  5. Awwww thank you for the tummy pics! I'm happy for you that you get to enjoy Oliver's floofy tummy and at the same time, very jealous! LOL. But that's OK, Goro lets me scritch his tummy when he is napping. Shhh..don't tell him that :-)
thehamish has got such a gorgeous bum! I wanna squeeze it, too :-) Niko has big muffin bum and I love patting & squeezing it all the time!
Have a great weekend. I hope you'll get good amount of rain. Stay safe. xo

  8. Those fire photographs are very scary Gayle.
But I love all thos last photographs of your sweet baboo.

  9. They are scary. When my brother first started with the Forest Service he was a SmokeJumper. He and his crew used jump into this hell of heat, smoke and fire to start the clearing of brush or set back burns. He and his crew almost died once when the winds changed. Scary times.
