Friday with the last Square Dog

Here we are again the best day of the week
Square Dog Friday.
I have been gone for a month except for a few comments here and there in blog land.

The results from the weeks of tests are not good. He has three specialists.
So much damage.
Back to the Eye Specialist on Monday, thehamish is almost blind.
Eight years after his lens replacements and years of eye drops, he is going blind.
Right now he is looking through snow globe eyes.
But...

  1. So wonderful to see that gud dug thehamish photos. He is such a handsome boy. Very sad that he must have so many doctors poking and prodding him these days. But honestly, he looks so lovely. You take such good care of him. And shopping therapy for new squeekies always helps!

We had our blizzard last week and right now are in the midst of yet another snow storm. Only about 6 inches they say this time, but it will all turn to freezing rain at the end. Ah well, New England in March...gotta love it. Hugs to you all. X

    1. Yes, we are back.
No more doctors (sort of) he is on stay comfortable care.
Squeekies are always gud. He picked that one out and carried it around the store in his mouth.
Snow is good... we have had a very quick spring and I am afraid of a wildfire summer.

  2. He is such a sweetie. Treasure every moment you have with him.

My favourite of these shots is him peeking out from behind the towel.

Spring remains elusive here- it has been snowing all day.

Glad to hear you are still in winter. Daughter lives up north on the Canadian border. Some snow sleet, rain and ice.... yikes !

  4. I've been wondering about how Ham is doing? I thought once they replaced the lens they would never get cloudy again. I had Sister's cataracts removed and still put drops three times a day. Had Emmy at the vet Wednesday worrying over her. I know how you feel because I love my weenies like my children. Hugs to both of you.

    1. We are stopping all the testing. We know the liver kidneys and bladder are beyond hope.
Just going to enjoy the months left.

  8. God bless him he is such a sweetheart. I had an old dog a very long time ago who went blind. That it was gradual was good, they adjust .. he will still be Hamish and will amaze you with his being able to manage pretty darned well. He is a lovely boy and you two will muddle along together just fine. My attitude has become, over the past few years, As Long As They Are Still Here With Us, It Is Good.
or gud .. :) lots of love from my little creatures ( one of whom can barely see) to your sweet boy.

  10. Hi, Gayle!

On the one hand it is great to see you and thehamish again. On the other hand it makes me sad to know that your last square dog is getting older and losing his vision. The same thing happened to my Cocker Spaniel Toto. All you can do is what you are doing - giving thehamish a wonderful, comfortable life and delighting him with new toys, especially ducks with skquikie. Your boy looks beautiful as ever and he remains the most photogenic dog I have ever seen.

Your clay pot prickly pear arrangements are lovely. They remind me of the large containerized collection I had at one time. I wish you, thehamish and your katties a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Gayle!

  15. It's great to see your update! I was thinking about you earlier as it was Friday and Square Dog Friday had been missing :-) My heart hurts reading thehamish is going blind and his body isn't doing well. But he looks so happy and comfy. I'm sure he is..and I'm glad he is enjoying himself with toys, naps, helping you, etc. Sending hugs to you both. xo

Let's hope that April treats us all much better. xo
