We chose our destiny everyday and everyday I chose a destiny of joy
....
The Fabulous Watson.
.
Thursday in America is Thanksgiving Day.
One of the best Holidays because all one has to do is be
Thankful for what you have.
Family, friends, home, food to eat.
You can always mix and match the family and friends part
or just stay home with popcorn and a good movie.
A friend of mine was still crying and moaning over the election.
I said, yes there are problems but are you not thankful that we live in a
country where we can vote what we believe, whether or not we agree.
Plus in two years we can vote again and speak our mind with our vote.
She was not appeased. So on this wonderful day she and her
family will moan and groan and cry into their pumpkin pie.
.
After the last 3 years I have had I am very thankful to be here today.
I really thought I was going to die. The prognosis was not good.
I really thought I was going to die. The prognosis was not good.
Most of all I want to tell you one wonderful thing I don't think
I have ever mentioned on this blog.
thehamish purrs !
I keep telling everyone who will listen and I many who don't care,
Scotties are the cats of the dog world.
When thehamish is happy or when I pet him late at night you
can hear him purr. It is a soft rumbling in his throat and chest.
He is happy and he is loved.
Watson did this but not as much or as loud.
I am thankful for Little Square Black Dogs

thehamish dreaming of chicken or turkey

turkey. . . parsnip
music. . . Wish You Would Hold That Smile, Minor Majority
My weenie girls are the best part of everyday. I am so thankful for them.
ReplyDeleteThey are your family ! The very best part.
DeleteHave a lovely Thanksgiving day.
cheers, parsnip
Parsnip, I really loved this post, and wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if thehamish purrs with a Scottish accent. rrrrr sort of thing. xo
W
DeleteKirbey really had a Scottish accent.
thehamish does but not so strong.
Happy Thanksgiving to you also.
It will be very quiet here Son is cooking and get to eat !
Hamish purrs? How cool!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Grace. I think you have the right idea. We can't keep crying over the election. All we can do is wait and see. For now.
When you keep crying, moaning and as my friend is wallowing in hate are you not as bad at the object you hate ? Crying and hysterical hate grows and feeds on itself till it grows to the size of a Death Star. Be mad for 4 years or energized to work for the vote in two years.
DeleteIn no way am I a Trump supporter or Pence who scares me, I have a gay daughter. But the vote has spoken and he is my President (gag) till I can vote him out.
I hope you and Collin have a nice Thanksgiving. It will be just Son, who is cooking and me.
Of course thehamish will have a small taste.
A purr with a Scottish accent?
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Yesh !
DeleteI know you had your Thanksgiving already and I wish ours was early like yours.
So have a really great Thursday !
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and most of all the Hamish. I had no idea he could purr, how talented. GLAD you made it through the three years and that I've gotten a chance to know you through your blog. I put up with Obama for 8 years, I can Put up with Trump till he gets bored and finally goes on to something else.
ReplyDeleteSo true, his next gig will be Emperor of France or the Bahamas !
DeleteHi, Gayle!
ReplyDeleteI very much admire you for what you wrote here, dear friend. I wish everyone had your wisdom. I am thankful that you have your health and that I have you as a friend. I think as long as there are Little Square Black Dogs in this world we're going to be okay. I would love to be there to hear thehamish purr. I sorely miss the daily contact I had with my Toto and I guarantee that I would shower thehamish with so much attention and affection that he'd never stop purring. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, dear friend Gayle!
awwwww you need a little black dog. They are the best.
DeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.
I hope you are having nice weather or do you have snow already.
I live in Central Florida, so the answer to the snow question... is NO! :)
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving, dear friend Gayle!
So you have falling oranges instead of falling snowflakes.
Deletemmm a purring scottie ! One of our labs does a low rumbly thing, but it couldn't be called a purr.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good idea to take time to sit back and think of those things we should be thankful for.
Sending the best of good thoughts your way Gayle
Gill
I have tried to get a video of his purring but like a child the second the phone comes out he stops.
DeleteSince you do not have Thanksgiving have a lovely Thursday.
cheers, parsnip
I have many things that I don't have, but I'm thankful for all I have!
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs different amount of time to overcome difficulty but I sure hope your friend will feel better after moaning through Thanksgiving. There are many ways to help make the world better :-)
It's too cute that thehamish purrs! I've never heard dug purr. Just like kitty purr, his purring must have healing powers :-) Happy Thanksgiving!
Will your kitties be purring over some turkey tomorrow ?
Deletethehamish and katties love turkey.
I hope i will not make you sad but Oliver loves to be petted and if you start to give him a tummy rub he will roll over. Everytime I do this I think of you and your kitties who don't like to have their tummies rubbed.
And I am sure Hamish is just as happy that he got to live with you Gayle. Happy Thanksgiving to you both.
ReplyDeleteA lovely and timely post :o)
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you, dear friend! Yours words are spot on today and always. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! Your delightful observations are one of the things I am grateful for, Parsnip.
ReplyDeleteHa! I didn't know Hamish purred! Maybe if he learns to hide his accent the resident cats will stop snubbing him?!
I always love seeing your photos.
ReplyDeleteWonderful attitude and one I am learning from. My Dana used to do a low gentle rumble in her throat and I would reply in kind. It was always on going to bed. I firmly believe it meant I love you. I got her as a rescue dog at five years old and we had this gentle loving exchange every evening for the rest of her life. Sometimes she would do the rumble when I got home after a long day at work. If anyone was with me they would think she was growling. She mostly did it for me but very occasionally would do it for other members of my family. Always cuddled up and calm and happy. Absolutely no chance she was growling, this definitely and for sure meant I love you.
