One of the things I miss this summer is seeing my sweet baboo Watson napping in the sunlight
from the skylight in the entryway.
On a hot summer day to lay in the sunlight on the cool tile floor
in an air conditioned home must have been heaven.

    1. I do, I miss him so much.
He got me through some very bad times. Such a sweetheart, everyone was a friend
and everyone wanted to meet him. He was so handsome.

  4. Hard to lose someone we love. All we can do is pull out the memories, hold them close and smile. He was a very specific little man wasn't he!

  6. Rough day at the vet for our family. One of our cats has been diagnosed with diabetes. 🙁 Twice daily insulin shots.

  7. Hi, Gayle!

My heart aches whenever you flash back to Watson. I wish he was still around to keep you and thehamish company. My Cocker Spaniel Toto had a black coat, too, and loved to fall asleep on the floor in a patch of sunlight.

I wish you and thehamish a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Gayle!

  8. Oh yes Gayle, just because our dogs are gone doesn't mean they are forgotten does it? My past dogs lie in a line under the hedge where I see their graves when I walk up the drive - I think of them often - and with love.

  9. Hamish has the right idea! Use all that money to buy chicken!

I know you and he both miss Watson. That empty hole in the heart can never be completely mended.

Now you've got me remembering other favorite Lovin' Spoonful tunes...What a Day for a Daydream....

  12. I can imagine how much you miss Watson. I still miss some of our dogs who've been gone for decades. They have a way of setting up residence in our hearts and never quite moving out... they just move over to make room for other pets.

I hope you and thehamish are doing better.

  13. I can think how much you must miss Watson. So much part of your life for so long, and such a character. Love is never wasted, though.

  14. I know how it feels to miss a dog. So many little things and big things bring him to mind. Watson was such a good boy.

  16. You're never going to stop missing Watson, Gayle. We learn to live with loss, but we never really get over it.

Looks like Hamish has his own section in the kitchen!

  17. I know what you mean about missing our pets. But Beanie-Bean has some of his same habits like snuggling bed pillows.

  19. I think his spirit will still be there - where he was so happy. I know Alastair is often in the garden.
