Some weekend photos of clouds, rain more clouds and some rain.

Fast moving wind is pushing the storm west.
Looks like it is traveling east but it is really moving west (right)

Last week's amazing sunset.

If you can make this one bigger, the lines and colors near the land are fabulous.

When the sun sets the colors change fast.
Sundays clouds.

Same clouds later in the evening at sunset. Looking north with the sunset colors from the west.

update,
I wrote this post Sunday night.
The Monday morning clouds are thick and full with moisture.
The air if fresh and full of the green rain desert purfume.
The washes and rivers are all full with the runoff. If I can sometime today I will try to
go out and shot a few photos.

Hi, Gayle!
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous sky shots filled with color, drama and mystery. You can see many spectacular sights in a 360 degree panorama around your home. That circle tube cloud makes it appear that someone very large was up there puffing on a pipe and blowing smoke rings. (It wasn't Shady. :)
You and thehamish have a wonderful week, dear friend Gayle!
I thought the tube cloud was fabulous !
DeleteYou have a great week too.
Some ominous looking skies!
ReplyDeleteNot so ominous because on the other side could have blue sky or be on the other side of Tucson in a blink of an eye.
DeleteI think all the grey winter skies that just hang over a city for weeks are depressing. Tomorrow morning the sun will be out till the build up of clouds.
Shady has beaten me to it ! These are fabulous photos, and I love the way your town blends into the scenery. What a beautiful place you live in.
ReplyDeleteTrust the wee gud dug thehamish is well and enjoying life.
awww Thank you, that is really some homes that you see. But the city is west and not that big. thehamish is gud !
DeleteThank you for these, Parsnip.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen such skies myself. Wow!
xo
Well you have the beautiful city, trees and Park to look at. Plus the ocean.
DeleteI have enjoyed my visits to NY.
Gorgeous there this time of year. Are you near Sedona?
ReplyDeleteWell yes and no. Sedona is about a 4 hour drive BUT it depends what day and time you travel. Phoenix is a hell hole of traffic to drive through.
DeleteSo gorgeous! Such a wonderful display of weather. X
ReplyDeleteMonsoons can be very fun to take photos of.
DeleteDark clouds hovered over us beginning at mid-afternoon today. We had a lot of thunder and lightning, but very little rain. Your photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Well hopefully it rained in the mountains to replenish the aquifer.
DeleteThe photos are easy just point and click ! But Thank you.
Nice shots. There were some beautiful clouds winding through the Green Mountains today. I was driving so couldn't take photos but it was gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI have driven through the Green Mountains and are they ever green and beautiful.
DeleteLucky you.
I feel lucky every day I am here.
DeleteAs we drove I saw nothing but the tops of green trees, then there would be an exit, I would see nothing but a small cut in the trees for a road and the a gas station. Never sure if there was more I would like to go back and have a chance to look around
DeleteIt definitely helps if you like trees...
DeleteThere are lovely lakes, too.
Fabulous to be able to look out on such beautiful mountains. Our nearest ones are The Pyrenees between France and Spain; about 5 hours drive away.

ReplyDeleteI know 5 hours is a lot but such beautiful mountains you have.
ReplyDeleteYou live in the most beautiful place, mountains or not.
Awesome clouds!
ReplyDeleteSummer has the best sunsets and clouds.
DeleteWe are getting evening shower almost every day lately, which is good because it cools down a little bit (though it also get very humid!) Sky at the sunset is incredible! Such gorgeous golden colors!
ReplyDeleteLove the smiling volcano :-) Have a happy new week!
Well, with the weather being so bad all over the U.S. I hope you need the rain, we sure do !
DeleteBeautiful black mountains!
ReplyDeleteI just use my Samsung 5.
DeleteIt is too hard for me to hold a camera safely.
You do such wonderful sky shots! We finally got some rain yesterday, lots of crash and boom.
ReplyDeleteThank You I just point and click.
DeleteGlad to hear you had some rain.
You're so cute. I'm enthralled with your photos of Arizona clouds and then boom there's a volcano from Hawaii! Love it. LOL
ReplyDeleteI just loved the volcano photo.
DeleteWhat a lovely set of photos you've taken.thehamish looking very fine in your previous post, I keep wondering how he has adjusted to life without Watson
ReplyDeleteI have become his Watson. It was always attached to me but now it is even more.
DeleteHis is adrift, Watson was his touchstone.
We keep looking for a companion but haven't found one yet. I want a really oder shelter dog but it can not be so big.... and we would like a terrier. so it goes on
We always go with pound pups. Hope you find one.
DeleteWow, Parsnip. These are very cool to see.
ReplyDeleteThank You !
DeleteWhat beautiful sky pix! It must be exciting to live in a place where the clouds are constantly changing and the view outside is so awesome!
ReplyDeleteI hope you find Hamish a companion soon. When my sweet boy-cat died, the girl cat grieved herself to death. Yes, I really believe she did because Jackson had always been there with her.
I know of dogs that have grieved so much they died. Sorry about your sweet babies.
DeleteI know thehamish misses Watson so much, as we do, but he is adrift and is very clingy to us. But he is having fun and I wonder if I am projecting much on him.
I wanted some old shelter dog but it has to be not much taller than him. Since the big dog attacked him he is wary of big dogs.
I just found several shelters up in Phoenix that have mixed terriers so when thehamish recovers we will try to go up with a list and see if we can find a match.
Have you found any cats to give a good home to or are you waiting ?
These are all beautiful, Gayle--but I have to admit that I especially love the volcano!
ReplyDeleteI know is that not just a hoot !
DeleteStunning shots. But is that volcano genuine?

ReplyDeleteStunning shots. But is that volcano genuine?
ReplyDeleteYes it is and the other photos are fabulous also.
DeleteI think I got this photo from Yahoo ?
Hello Parsnip, these are some stunning captures of the clouds. Love it.
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Roos
