We have been attacked by. . .

The weekend started out great but I have been noticing these tiny moths (?) flying
around the house. I thought it was because of the rains so I just smacked them.
They never quite went away.
We found the answer. Son was moving furniture to for a really good vacuum
on the living room carpet when  I saw a hole in the rug.
I thought it was from the foot of the ottoman but then I saw another one with moths !

Son vacuumed them up and the pest company are coming today to treat the carpet.
I am somewhat miffed because it is the most expensive piece of furniture
I have in my home and I love this carpet.
Thank goodness I only have that carpet and a small one in the library.
When you live in the hot desert tile floor is the best.
........
This is a old photo of of thehamish and Watson destroying their cell phone.
(They didn't like their phone provider.)
But you can see the carpet .
The stuffing is everywhere but that is just fine because I know they love pulling
the stuffing out. I clean it up after their fun.
.
.
yesh lets' destroy

This was the day a very serious Watson gave Hamish his name
he is a force of nature that can not be stopped.  Just look at the destruction of
toy stuffing behind me !  The toy basket and ottoman was moved.
Stuffing was all over the carpet and floor.
This day Hamish became thehamish !
He is the only one ! Thank Goodness.
.
This was an evening sunset but this view is looking east away from the sunset.
The sunset was behind me. Son and I could not believe the sky.

Here are several photos of a sunset that I thought was spectacular.
It was changing as I was taking the photos. Photos never show how
huge the clouds are and fill up the sky all around you.

  1. Hi, Gayle!

I'm sorry you are dealing with a moth invasion and that they ate through your rug. It's always wonderful to see pictures taken when Watson was still around. Your dog pictures are second to none and so are your dramatic skyscapes. Every time I tune in to the adventures of thehamish he is crying "oh woe oh woe, oh woe is me, woe." Clearly he was hoping that toy hot dog tasted like chkikin'. :)

Have a great week, dear friend Gayle!

  2. What a fantastic sky. When you said the bit about the sky being full of the clouds, I suddenly felt what it must have been like to see that sky. Wonderful.
Moths are a pain. They do their evil work in the dark and forgotten corners. That is a beautiful carpet, I can see why you are irritated, but anyhow you've caught the problem early on, from the sounds of it.

  3. Emmy has one toy, her 'crybaby', which is a round ring with a squeaker. She won't take anything else no matter how I try. She starts crying if we can't find her crybaby.

  4. Yikes, I had no idea that moths could or would eat a carpet. I love the pattern of yours, can see why you're so fond of it. We have only a few area rugs because I prefer the bare floor. Great sky photos.
My love to the Hamish and it's always good to see old photos of him and Watson together.

  5. Amazing sunset shots!

Stuffed toys can't last long around a determined Scottie.

  8. Love the sunsets. You live in such a beautiful place, Gayle. I was telling Collin the other day about why tile floors are best in the desert.

I'm with Watson and Hamish. I've been tempted to destroy my phone several times...though chewing it wouldn't be an option....

    1. Tile floors are great for dogs that throw up a lot and for seeing critters you do not what in your home.

  9. Darn moths! They never seem to settle in the rag bin. They always go after something nice.

    1. Oh he does. I am his new Watson and he has attached himself to me even more.
He has always had Watson since he was a puppy so he is adrift.

  12. The moths ate the carpet? I've never heard of that before. I'm sorry for your troubles. It's nice to see Watson. I don't like my cell phone provider, either, but why switch when they're all bad?

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Half of the carpet will be cut off and tossed and then bind the new edge, and use it in the library.

  16. Glad you mananged to get rid of the moths. The photos of the distruction of toys by the dogs gave you lots of mess but the dogs had fun. The sunset is amazing.
