Square Dog Friday. . . and life goes on.

Best day of the week is here
Square Dog Friday.
Happiness abounds with the sound of his little footies
chasing lizzzzzaaaaaaaaards.
.
When Watson was so ill I had a few dishes of water in the places he napped.
This is the last dish that I haven't picked up. At first it was because I was busy
then it was just there in a place that wasn't used as much and I really
didn't want to pick it up. It is the last visual part that Watson lived here .
I will put the dish away soon. I just have to pick it up. . . . .

thehamish has started to enjoy this pillow comfort again.
He and Watson used to like to nap in the condos.

thehamish is getting older the white beard has turned to gray.
Oh No !

 .

Another twilight photo but this one has thehamish in it.
If you see a blobby black blur above his bum. It is his broken tail wagging really fast.
it just makes me smile. But Little Black Dogs are hard to see at night.
.
This is a sofa in my studio next to my computer. I accidently put down the trash
bag box on the sofa. Of course thehamish had to nap right there and not on one
of seven pillow that are all around the studio for napping enjoyment.
Daughter just said he was just trying to show me the box was there.
I think not. Naughty !

Not sure if I am overthinking  this but I have been looking for a friend for thehamish.
He seems happy but I just thought he might like a friend to cuddle with.
I found a cutie before Christmas  but I wasn't sure about him and then I got sick.
Then we had two meeting with two other dogs that really didn't work.
thehamish was mellow but the other dogs just barked at him the whole time.

Or like this little guy kept attacking.
Needs to be the only dog I think.
Oh well.
.

Yesterday Japanese Son "Lined" me that it was Chinese dusty and rainy day.
Then about an hour later he "Lined" me that he had "totally felt an earthquake".
He then sent me a photo of his earthquake app.
If you look at all the 1's in the middle of the photo drop down and a bit
right under some 2 is a 3 and that is about where Osaka is.

6.1 mag at 10 km.
No damage.
Just another day in Japan and when we lived in California.
...........

And of course just because I can here is your pretty for the weekend.

awwwwwwwwwwww
What can I say he is a cutie.

looking. . . parsnip

  1. Quakes... they're such a rarity here. Hamish seems quite comfortable below the shelves!

  2. Hamish has such a lovely expression in this photo! I have wondered if he would like you to persevere with finding a friend for him.

  3. Hi, dear Gayle!

Can it be Square Dog Friday again? Can it be April already? themahish is so cute curled up in his cubby-hole. I see no reason for you to pick up Watson's dish. It's not hurting anybody where it is and if it brings you happy memories then you should leave it. I don't think you should get another dog unless you are sure he or she is compatible with thehamish. A pup that insists on being top dog might not be a good fit for your situation. You have such a beautiful view out back!

Have a happy weekend, dear friend Gayle!

    1. I am leaving the dish where it is for now. It is not like I burst into tears over it but I stays there for now.

  4. Good boy. Maybe he doesn't want a friend. Just have you to himself. Is that astroturf? So green. I saw a show where somewhere in the SW, maybe Las Vegas, used that for lawns to conserve water.

    1. No that is my little piece of grass for The Square Ones.
It is seeded winter and summer. I use Scotts and what we call Golf Course Grass.

  5. I can understand you don't want to pick up the dish. Dish being there is part of Watson't memories.
The earthquake app is really neat. And I think it's very helpful to have it in places like Japan! Glad it was not a major earthquake and there were no damages. Happy April. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. If I lived in Japan I would have a weather/earthquake app 1

  6. Like some earlier commenters, I can well understand why you might want to keep Watson's dish as it is for a while, and why Hamish might be preferring to be on his own for a bit longer.

The view from your window continues to make me think...Wow!

Any sort of earthquake also makes me utter a slightly subdued wow.

    xo

    1. I bought this house because of the view. I used to live steps to the ocean and view.
So I knew what area I wanted to live in.
I look at it all the time.

  9. I have to get to the post office soon. I have a gift for you that I held on to for a while (explanation will be added to the package). Love thehamish! Take care, Gayle!

  10. It helps a lot if the dog you try is one that has been fostered in a home with other dogs, as that way you know beforehand if they are dog friendly or not. That might be less stressful for you all. Good luck finding a new friend for TheHamish!

    1. All three dogs are fostered, only one was at the shelter.
I think I will stop looking and just see where it goes.

  11. That looks like a mighty fierce snake in the next dog compartment!
Suspct tha thehamish likes having the odd extra bowl and cushion about that may have been for the exclusive use of his friend.
A real cute final photo with all those floor, furniture, door, ears and neck angles.

    1. The snake in the other room is even scarier. I think almost every child in America has this green IKEA snake. I get all my children leftovers.
I too love the last photo, love all the angles also,
Watson let thehamish always snuggle in wherever he was. I think that is what is the saddest of all.

  12. I know what you mean about the dish. I left the box that elevated Mabel's food bowl sitting out for a long time.

    1. I am not in huge tears but I miss Watson so much. Do not know if the bowl is comfort or sadness.

  13. An earthquake! Glad your son is all right!

I would certainly not get Hamish a 'friend' who barks at him or fights with him! Better off by himself!

And so what if he naps on the garbage? If he's comfy, who cares?

Keep spoiling him for as long as you can!

    1. Oh no we are being very careful. What I want is another Watson for him.
I think I will just stop for now.

  14. When Sam died, I cleaned and put his cage away the next day. I'm not sure why. Maybe I just didn't want to look at it, sitting there empty. Not everyone deals with loss in the same way. If having that dish there gives you even a small degree of comfort, leave it there.

As for a new friend for Hamish, if that's what you want to do, again, it's different for everyone. When my rabbit Babs died, I wanted to find a new companion for Bugsy. I actually brought home two. But Bugsy would have nothing to do with either of them.

    1. I picked up everything but that dish was just there and I just left it.
I won't cry if I pick it up but I kinda like it there although the reason it was there was sad, but for now it stays.

  15. Hamish still looks a little sad, I hope you find a companion for him.
That earthquake app is interesting. Our daughter is in Tokyo today meeting up with friends from the states, she says it's cold.
Your backyard, with the lights, looks incredible. My aching bones tell me I ought to be living somewhere drier.

  16. That last photograph - Cutie indeed. Maybe he is too old Gayle to take to a new companion. I am sure he remembers his old pal - and I am sure also that he considers you to be his best pal - perhaps that is enough for him at his age.
