And here is your pretty to start the week !

The gardners and I are trying to get the yard ready for summer.
This prickly pear is in a shady place and really needs to be out in the sun.
It will not turn purple or bloom  if in the shade.
It is recovering from a hard freeze. Lots of water helped and it needs to be tied up.
The pretty green lacy fern like plant is a weed.
But I like it there and just keep pulling some out so it doesn't take over.
In Tuson any plant that gets water will support it's own little green world.
And weeds will take over fast if it doesn't have any critters to eat it.
I think it is very pretty and as close to a fern that will grow in Arizona.

Echinopsis Cactus Bloom.
Usually bloom around Easter.

  1. Hi, dear Gayle!

I'm sorry to see thehamish behind bars, but at least he is serving his sentence in a country club prison! :) I hope it won't be long before he's out back lizzzzrd chasin' like a gud square dog should.

That pot full of pricky pear is stunning! I wish it was in a Shady place - namely my house! :)

    Happy Monday, dear friend Gayle!

  2. Dear thehamish, I am intrigued by your keyboard skills. Computer keybooards are designed for human digits so how the hell do you manage with stumpy little canine paws? I would also like to know why you have been incarcerated by your human keeper? It must have been something pretty bad thehamish!

The quick story of thehamish , diabetes, lens replacement. bladder surgery, peritonitis
special diet he is my 6 million dollar gud dug. Plus his best gud dug 17 year old Watson died, so he is still finding his way.
I rescued him 12 years ago, he is a Scotty Westie mix.
He had a ACL problem in his left back leg we tried to heal naturally (sanding) but a few days ago he blew out both ACL's in his back legs. Surgery on both legs coming up. he has to rest but being in a crate for such an active little one is not good. So I built a bigger jail for him.
I have been reading your posts/comments and they make me giggle. Thanks for stopping by.

    1. such a diva.... He like the door open but he mostly stays in.
It is needing to follow me everywhere that we have to stop.
Is so sad to watch as he stumbles along and drag his legs.
      He need rest.

  4. With all that sunshine outdoors, no wonder the Hamish is a bit restive. Don't you wish that he could truly understand that this change in his liberty is directed towards a healthier future?
    Your Arizona plants are magnificent!
Best wishes from NYC. Do give the Hamish a scratch or two behind his ears if that would be something he would like.

  7. Don't worry, thehamish! Penelope and Franklin are huddled together to create a rescue plan, which they will forget when it's time to have a biscuit and go to bed. But they will dream of you, and we all pray for your release. yert
