Thursday, Oh My Goodness !

Missed my Wednesday post.
So here is a Oh My Goodness, Thursday post !

Starbucks strikes again.
A puffed up billion-dollar company trying to promote PC conformity.
Oh please Starbucks please save me.

Here is the "problem solver" this year Starbucks "Christmas" cup
is plain red, unadorned with snowmen, snowflakes, holly or kids
sledding in the snow because that could offend some people.
What these designs have to do with "Christmas" other than they are symbols
of winter. I don't know. But let be "inclusive" by not designing anything ?
Oh please PC Starbucks save me.
What is funny I saw a big display of their "Christmas Blend Coffee"
I guess Christmas is OK on the coffee bags but not the cups.
wahahahahahahahahahahahahaha need a breath wahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Some "Christian" groups are are up in arms over this.
With so many problems in the world Christians groups are upset over this ?

A silly red cup of over priced bad coffee is not important !

Personally I wish they would use a plain recycled cup.
But I don't drink Starbucks coffee it usually tastes burnt to me.
And no foo foo double maccanino carmel fat free extra protein powder
extra chocolate syrup whipped cream coffee either.
This is just another chance for Starbucks to get some attention and push up flagging sales.
.
Now if you want to read a much better post on this read "Cherdo's" blog.
.
Now lets go make a cup of coffee and read the newspaper
or play with you gud dug or kitty.

And just because I can here is you mid week pretty
One of my tiny but pretty pomegranates. It is a very young tree.
.

pomegranate. . . parsnip
music. . . Riders On the Storm,  The Doors

  1. Coffee is not permitted for me at all, but oddly, I did have a dream I drank half a cup last night. I'm groovin' on roasted organic dandelion root tea. Sooo good. As for the snowman-gone cups? That's just dumb. And like you said, so not important.

    2. Thanks but it's not a substitute, it's just part of my many, many organic herbals that I drink. I actually don't miss coffee at all. But then, I never drank that much and I wasn't a morning coffee drinker. I'm way more of a tea person.

How about you? More of a tea or more of a coffee gal?

    3. I used to drink coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon first with my Mum and later with Daughter.'
Now I drink coffee only but I am so lazy I don't always make it.

    4. That sounds like it was fun. Did you have a favorite tea back then? Any baked treats to go with it?

  2. I agree . However, I will never-ever buy coffee from them again. Since I don't support Planned Parenthood and GMO's. I've beencountered working on an article about why not to drink their coffee. Research is an awesome thing.

    Hugs and chocolate to you!

  3. I shall continue to put out pictures of children on sleds, trees, stars and the like - I don't care whether I am 'politically correct' or not!
I love that sweet little pomegranate - so pretty and such a luscious colour after the rather pale, wizened ones we tend to get here when theyh ave been off the tree a long time before they reach our shops.

  4. Oh, we are nerds of a feather! My post is about these darned cups today, too. Some people need to get a life. Or, more importantly, look around at actual life and the really important issues.

My grip is that it is a business and I don't need them to represent my religion or anyone else's...just get a decent mild blend, people.

    Hugs, parsnip! :-) :-) :-) :-)

  6. I could care less about coffee or Starbucks, but the guy who started this whole controversy has a history of being like this. Where's a good case of Ebola to infect him?

  7. I make coffee at home and take it with me in a thermos. Suddenly I wish that thermos wasn't plain silver but had some sort of offensive design like a snow flocked tree.

    Cool pomegranate!

  8. Hahaha this is a great blog Parsnip. The world is burning and people are angry that Christmas decoration is not to be seen on the cups of Starbucks. Let me tell you that I love coffee but than the real Espresso that I make at home and when I go out I go for the real Italian espresso. Starbucks is also here in Europe but I never take coffee there. Also because I hate taking food from paper or plastic cups.
    Regards,
    Roos
    PS feeling a lot better.

  9. I didn't know about this Starbucks red cup thing until I read your post. I'm simply surprised this got to be such a big controversy and some people are so upset. I think Starbucks is happy anyway because like you said, it would push up their sales!
Your pomegranate is very pretty! Have a wonderful weekend xoxo

  11. I'm just sick of political correctness. Where is this crapola going to end?

I rarely buy anything from Starbucks anyway because they're grossly overpriced (and because I don't like coffee). I shall celebrate Christmas as I always have, and a big ol' "Bah humbug" on political correctness everywhere!
