parley view parsnip. . . let there be cake

Yes, the parsnip had a Birthday on Sunday !
I am now legally older than the earth.
But I had a great day, lunch and dinner out.
Lots of birthday wishes, presents and Daughter special ordered
my favorite cake from,  Frog, the French Bakery.
A Princess Cake.
Yes, the parsnip is a Princess.

I have not had this cake in over 10 years.
Not every bakery makes them.
 A Marzipan covered white cake
with raspberry jam and raspberry cream.
This cake is perfect.
Perfect for a parsnip.

  1. And a very happy birthday to you Parsnip from the farmer, Tess and me. Not sure about that cake though.

    1. I don't really eat sweets. And I must admit we had some cake and minced pie and never got around to eat them.
I did have some candy canes. I gained no weight over the holidays.
But I love this cake. A small slice with an afternoon coffee.

  2. Happy Birthday Parsnip. Oh indeed nom nom nom. Must have been dilicious that cake.

  3. Happy Birthday, and that cake looks delicious!

  4. Buzzy McDuff, the Pip,and and I want to wish you a most wonderful (and belated) Happy Birthday!!! The cake looks fabulous! Wish I were there to nosh on a slice with you. X

    1. The cake is not very big, so I still have Half a cake.
I have a slice waiting for you... coffee or tea ?

  5. Happy Birthday Parsnip! A fellow capricorn eh? I become even more ancient on Saturday.

  6. Sunday was your birthday? Happy belated! Your card will be forthcoming!

  7. Happy belated birthday! The cake looks yummy!

  8. Happy Birthday and wow, that cake is so stunning! I have never heard of a Princess cake before, you deserve it.

  9. OMG!!Princess cake. My sister and I were just discussing shortcuts to making a princess cake. It involved a purchased cake, a bowl and some marzipan. Roll out marzipan. Put into bowl, shove half of cake into bowl add raspberry jam and rest of cake. Turn over-decorate and voila. What do you think? It's my sister's favorite.

  10. Happy Birthday!! Let there be (gorgeous) cake, indeed!

  11. Belated birthday wishes! That cake looks incredibly delicious!
