Parley view parsnip...

What is going on around my home in Tucson today.

My friend D came to spend a few days, she always seem to visit around the first week in December.
There is always catching up, sightseeing and dinners out.

One of our favorite places is the Westward Look Resort.
I love the way at Christmas they just outline the Saguaro with rope lights
instead of wrapping them around and around.

They line the walks with luminaria.

So very simple and beautiful.

They are everywhere.
...........

Who is looking out Watson's window on a rainy day ?

thehamish is not happy
and i'm thinkin' there better be a chkikin' strip now
yert!

A winter storm blew in left snow on the foothills, mountains and rain in the valley.
On Sunday most of the snow in the foothills (view from my back yard) was gone
but the mountains where covered in snow.
I was able to look at snow covered mountain but where I live it was 58 and sunny.
Very lovely.
...............

I usually don't show too many photos of my Granddaughter but
after the unspeakable events of last week,
I thought it might be nice to start the week with a smile.
She is collecting rocks at the park.
I am always collecting rock, stones or pebbles.
How sweet is that.

snow. . . parsnip
music. . . Bless The Beasts and The Children, The Carpenters

I picked this song to be sung at my daughters, Nicole service so many years ago.
She died because of a doctors horrible stupid mistake at her birth.
She was a very beautiful baby who lived for two months.
I think of her everyday.
My heart is with all the families suffering today.

  4. I like the way those lights shine!

And the boys are ever stoic, of course.

Parents aren't supposed to bury their children, and after the events of the last few days... it's a wound in the heart, and it never really heals. Your remarks about your daughter lean that way. I'm very sorry for that loss, even years on.

    1. What a weekend this was. I changed the channel after the first few hours.
I really don't want to watch lots of misinformation from talking heads. The regular news is news is enough with updates.
I might post about what happens right after the death of a child and hen the years after.

  6. The cacti are just superb, what a novelty - at least for me stuck back in Hamish's homeland.

  8. Christmas is a dreadful time when tragedy occurs. To chose the innocents?
    Hell on earth.

  9. Adorable granddaughter, lovely luminarias, snow and square dogs too of course! I'm very sorry to learn about your baby daughter. I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose a child, especially if the tragedy could have been prevented somehow, so senseless.
