parley view parsnip.... bits and pieces

The family is back in Japan now.
Having a huge weather shock, it was only in the 40's, cold and windy.
On the day they left, it was 85/49 in Tucson. Our low was warmer than their high.
They wanted to stay in Sunny Tucson.

Left over beer bottle.
Son loves beer and misses the choices he has in America, especially Sierra Nevada.

some of the great labels

I buy beer like I buy wine, by the label... since I don't drink

This one is a keeper,  Beautiful !
In Japan, you have to recycle, you wash bottles, rinse cartons and flatten, rinse all containers,  and bundle all papers.
I had the neatest bundled recycles for three weeks.

A children's  book from ANA.
Family loves this airlines, great service.

You place the airplanes "light" under the clear film page to find the hidden items.
So kawaii !

We went to the Reid Park Zoo.

must see the "Warty Pigs"
You all know how I love my Javelinas, boars and now Warty Pigs.

awwwwwww, they look like cousins of thehamish.
I know those sweet little faces, back and bottoms anywhere.
They even nap like him !

what??? notme ! yert !

Watson.... Oh Yes ! let me tell you, looks just like you !

  1. Oh, I didn't know there were warty pigs at Reid Park Zoo! They look so sweet, almost as cute as Hamish and Watson. I'm also a big fan of the capybaras. :)

    1. I love the capybaras too.
We got to see the new Elephant enclosure. Nice but I have a few issues, not enough mud and trees.... Plus all the problems with the two older elephants that were sent to San Diego. I hope they were kept together.
They had lots of the animals I like, the different ones like the anteaters, warty pigs, tortoises....
Still not sure how I feel about zoos. I just wish some of the spaces were bigger.
But my Japanese family had a wonderful time.
I like that it is a smaller zoo, makes it more assessable for someone like me. But I must admit I was very tired for a few days afterwards.
When I was younger it was a lake with ducks and some petting animals.

  2. Never heard of the warty pig! I now consider myself educated.

Still can't believe they're both trying to fit in the same basket. Too cute.

Poor Watson as he gets old he seems to like comfy places to nap. he like the basket a lot but I always see Hamish trying to climb in too.

  3. They look so cute there together! I'm not surprised your family wanted to stay in sunny Tucson, it is about that temperature here too, and rainy, and it's just miserable!

We here in Tucson will take any rain we can, summer is coming along with the wildfires.

  5. They are cute pigs! I can't remember the last time I went to a zoo... I should remedy that this summer.

And the lads look as dignified as ever.

    1. Not so sure what to think about zoo's but I like when they try to give them some space to live.

  6. Awwww. The warty pigs are gorgeous. Pigs are supposed to be very intelligent too.

Is Tucson really that hot? I'm not sure how well I would cope with that kind of heat!

    1. Yes Tucson is hot. Somewhat too hot for me somedays but you learn to live with the heat. You structure you day around the hottest part of the day.
We have had such strange weather. Not enough rain, some below freezing night when we shouldn't have and a very early high temps. Our cool spring never really came.
      Bummer !

  9. They do kind of look like Hamish! We would have rather stayed in nice warm Tucson too. But today it has finally warmed up in Victoria. It was in the 60s today and I was gardening without a jacket.
    Cheers.

  11. Hamish? Warty pig? How could you?
We now recycle like that and I find it quite satisfying. I also have a beer loving son - not just any old beer - it has to be real ale.
I expect - like me - you are missing them. Hey Ho!

  12. It had never occurred to «Louis» until seeing your post that today's boutique brewery labels will be tomorrow's collectables!

«Louis» hopes the family soon gets warmer weather in Japan!
