Weekend catch up

It has rained off and on all weekend.
We need the rain so I was very happy.
.

The turn to my street with the Catalina Mountains in the background.

 Beautiful.

I am still getting use to find a cat asleep in different places in the house.

Oliver loves to sit and be taken for a ride in the basket of my walker.
He will sit there till you take him out.
He is the strangest cat I know. He will let you pick him up any time and pet him.
He will roll over so you can pet his tummy. He is a hoot.

This year I bought two new Amaryllis
This bulb comes wrapped in wax and needs no water.
It does not grow so tall but is so beautiful.
The bulb is not good to be replanted, but I think I will try to cut the wax off
and see what happens.

Even with just one bloom left I think it looks wonderful.

I like this one because it was so different.

I left them too long in the bag so they were not watered as much as they should have been,
when they started to bloom.

This was the photo on the instructions.
I hope next year they look more like this.

I bought myself  some new Birthday slippers.
So lovely and comfortable.

Sunset shadows on the wall outside and inside my bathroom floor to ceiling window.

Rainy cloud cover  the Santa Ritas Mountains (you can't see them) as the storm is heading
north towards my home.

.
The view into the living room from my front door.
I will miss my Christmas tree.

............

And as always just because I can here is you pretty to start the week.

.
Remember the basket of Javelinas babies ?

The new baby has joined my other Javelinas.

  2. Hi, Gayle!

You have the most beautiful Southwestern home. I just can't get over all the lovely little spots you show us. I'd love to have that basket of Javelinas babies! Oliver behaves more like a dog than a kitty kat, it seems. I hope that means he is warming up to thehamish. I also hope thehamish is doing well this week and you, too, dear friend!

    1. Oliver will walk close to thehamish but he is always ready to bolt.
Merida has been walking out closer to the kitchen but is always on the search for Son. leading him back to the bedroom. She loves Son. She is rather cranky and I always ask if I can pet her showing my hand to her. If she kinda turns her head and does a puff of air I know don't touch. She is a princess but I love her, she is a tough old broad.
thehamish has lost so much of his eye sight and now looks through a snow globe effect that I think he misses the cats most of the time.

  5. What does Hamish think of those javelinas? Love to watch storms working their way over the mountains.

    1. He bounds and barks at the real ones, if I let him out. The stuffed one he really can not see and he really does not jump up on the ledge.

    1. I need my home quiet because my studio is usually a busy huge mess.

  7. Thank you very much for this tour. Your home definitely has that lovely Japanese sense, javalinas included.

Oliver does seem to be a bit of a comedian. Just seeing where he chooses to settle made me smile.

What I really, really love is the beautiful countryside around your home. I would spend hours watching the sky. Truly.

Love to you and yours, particularly thehamish. xo

  8. First off, if you treated yourself to a pair of birthday slippers, I must have missed your big day. So a belated happy birthday to you. I hope you had a wonderful day.

Through the lens of your camera, even a rainy dreary cloudy day looks beautiful and uplifting.

  17. Your black kitty resembles my now deceased cat, Boo-Boo. Love your cloud pics. Florida could use some rain right now.

  20. What beautiful scenery! You live in a beautiful place.

I love cats that like being petted. Both my last two cats endured it but they didn't love it. So disappointing since I'd wanted a lap cat!

I think your flowers look better than the ones on the package. And the amaryllis is beautiful even if it is short!
