1 January 2017

Happy Happy New Year to everyone.

This is the year of the Roster.
This year is a Fire sign Roster which means you are Trustworthy and Responsible.
But and this is a huge but, this is the most unlucky in a 12 year cycle.
Fortune in all aspects will not be very good .
Rosters should be careful in 2017.

But who cares about all that, look how cute this Chick is !
And life is what you make it.

 .

 .

Japanese Family always sends me a beautiful Zodiac animal each year.
In Japan you send out postcards to arrive on or as close to New Year Day with
the Zodiac sign and best wishes.
I have been sending out my designed postcards for several years now. But this year like
last year I did not get them finished in time. Too much happening.

.
Someone is getting ready for New Year's Eve and Day.

I had thehamish try on Ballie's Christmas gift.
.

  1. A bobble head rooster? That means 2017 can't be all that bad. Wonder what happened 12 years ago. I don't know if I can think that much. Twelve years older if that says anything. Well, as the first year in the zodiac, I think I'll work on that. Have a good one Gayle and don't forget your black-eyed peas today and give a few to the Ham.

  6. How do you ever get Hamish to pose covered in Christmas lights?

I'm a Leo here. In the Japanese zodiac, I'm a snake. Why'd I have to be a snake???

  7. Hi, Gayle!

Happy New Year to you, to thehamish and to your kute katties! I guess I write something like this every time, but that last picture of thehamish is an all time classic. It brought a tear to my eye. He's such a handsome fellow and a gud dog. I wonder if he was licking his chops over that Chick you received from Japan. :) Thehamish is thinkin' it probably tastes like chkikin'.

May 2017 bring you and your family many blessings, dear friend Gayle!

  8. Sorry you didn't hit your Xmas card goal. I used to love sending them but that was long ago. These days, I open, read and toss the cards in the bin. Which sounds terrible, but I don't feel bad. The card did it job-now out with the clutter!

    2. I'm with Ivy. I do scan the cards before they go to the recycling bin, though.

I used to send ecards, but when American Greetings screwed up the password on my account and I couldn't get into it for more than a week, I cancelled my membership.

  9. Happy New Year, dear Gayle! Thanks so much for the Christmas card. I'm a little upside down now (my mom is deep in the throws of dementia and it has been a strain). Please hug thehamish and I send love and best wishes for the new year.

  12. Gayle, that little chick is so cheery...a great icon to begin a year.

My birth year makes me a Wood Rooster. Perhaps that's why I am naturally a morning person?

As always, best wishes to you and thehamish. xo

  14. Happy New Year Gayle. Lovely that Rooster from Japan. And I hope that Hamish is a bit better and gets his Chicken again from his tall person who worries so much for him.
    Take care,

  19. Very sad to read that the Hamish is sick, I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for his full recovery.

The chick is about as cute as it gets, I feel like I need one to cheer up my desk, but it would soon get buried under old chocolate wrappers and pencil shavings such is my slovenly way.

Happy Rooster year to you, the Hamish, and all your family. X
