6 January 2016. . . Epiphany

This is usually my life in Japan post day.
But here I am talking about, Christmas, Birthdays and Epiphany.
.....
Growing up Polish Catholic we celebrated The Three Kings.
The day that marks Three Kings visit to the baby Jesus.
.
Here is the birthday part. My birthday is on the 4th of January.
After getting ready for Christmas and then the New Year, here comes my day.
Do I clean up on New Year Day,  the day after  or leave my Christmas decorations up ?
For me it all depends to what is going on that week.
But no matter what day I clean up,  I always leave the Creche up until the 6th.
I have several but I seem to alway pick the same two that made it through the
wildfire that destroyed my home.
......

I think this small Creche is just lovely .
.
 .....
This typical winter storm moved in, dropping rain and snow
then zoomed out the same day.

 .

 .

And here comes the sun shine.
.
 .

..............................

As always just because I can here is your mid-week pretty.

da da da dummmm daaaa daaaaaum daa.

Just got so excited about seeing Star Wars. I picked these cuties up.
But now where will I put them ? I try not to buy "stuff" but.......... . .

  1. Happy birthday. I just had one too. That storm is my kind of storm - in and out. We are in for two days of rain, which I do not like. Need the sunshine. I didn't know your house burned down. How horrible. My 'stuff' means a lot to me. Someone talked about what they would grab (it was pictures) but I'd be grabbing my stuff.

    1. We are having rain and snow right now but it is not completely overcast.
We lost everything and even our cat because of my as*hold of an x.

  3. Heavens...looks like you could have reached out and touched that rainbow! So pretty!

I too have kept a few salvaged and beloved items from our house fire. Seems like no matter what I do, and all these many years later, they still smell a wee bit "smokey". Which is fine by me, they're survivors after all.

    1. It took a long time to be able to have a fire in the fireplace.
And the smell of smoke still is uncomfortable sometimes.

  5. Being raised a Southern Baptist I'm not sure I ever heard of Epiphany or I never paid any attention. Then my Spanish Catholic Mother-in-law explained it to me and told me that when they were children that's when they'd put their shoes out so the Magi would leave gifts.
Love your Star Wars critters, I got a little Wookie for Christmas.
    Your creches are beautiful.

  7. We had a lovely Epiphany service and meal last night. My son and I opted not to remove decorations till afterwards and I think that might be the new tradition.

    You - thehamish - are a lovepup.

    Love you, Gayle!

    1. Just taking ours down. It doesn't take very long as I do not put a lot of items out.
We went to the Polish Cottage for dinner last night and I was very happy.

    1. I found them online at Hallmark.
I think the Hallmark stores also have them. Also wanted the new BB8 but they were out.
      Good Luck

Just to thank you for your comments on my blog and to let you know that all three arrived together since I last checked my dashboard yesterday morning. Maybe there is a traffic jam somewhere in the ether?!
