  1. What a dramatic view you have from your windows!

Hamish has such a sweet expression. I`m sure he ( and you) must miss his much loved old friend. It is hard to lose them.

      It is just too hard.

  3. I don't like the rain anymore than you do, Hamish. If only it rained between midnight and six in the morning.

Wet feet in the winter, bad.

  6. Yesh...this morning the Pip decided the lawn was much too damp for her little feeties and decided (while my back was turned) to take a shortcut and tinkled on the welcome mat at the front door instead. *sigh* I sternly reminded her that Cairn Terriers are from the highlands of Scotland and should be undaunted by wet and cold...but she did not care. *double sigh*

Tell dear Hamish we're all very much missing Watson too. X

    1. Little feet sometimes don't remember their history. Running through the wet should be fun ? ? ?

  7. Oi! How thehamish doth suffer. Franklin and Penelope don't like the wet ground, either. When Lake Junebug fills up, they have to dog paddle for their lives. Please tell thehamish that Franklin and Penelope and I miss Watson. We are sad for thehamish and think he should have more chikin'. The only real solution to Harper's death was mourning and then adding Penelope to our little family. Goodnight, thehamish. Good night, Gayle.

    Love,
    Janie, Franklin, and Penelope

    1. We are looking for a friend, but since thehamish was attacked by a big dog and really hurt he doesn't like big dogs.
I want to adopt an old old old gud dug that needs a nice home. But where I live it is all pitbull mixes that are too strong for me.
Then that makes me sad and sad and more sad.
Waves of sadness just rolls over me.
We will work it out somehow.

    2. I know the waves of sadness. I found Penelope online with a find a pet web site. I applied to adopt her, was accepted, and had to go to Georgia to pick her up. I don't ever want to go to Georgia again, but going there for Penelope was worth it.

    3. I am trying to find Watson's Mum.... to see if she has or knows of any older Scotties.
If not Son wants to drive to Texas to adopt an older Scotty.
Living where I do it is hard to find any smaller dog, beside chihuahuas,
      No Thank You !

  8. I didn't realize you'd lost Watson, but had a bad feeling when I saw that you'd signed a comment on my blog from you and thehamish. I'm so very sorry. Our pets aren't just our pets; they're our babies, and you love your babies so much, you've made all of us love them, too.

I started looking through some of your past posts to see if I could find out anything about Watson, but what I did find is one post where you mentioned growing up Polish Catholic. As in Polish National Catholic? My hubby and I were married in the Polish National Catholic church, but when we moved down to Georgia, found out the closest PNC church is in Florida. (A wee bit too far of a commute...)

Again, I'm so sorry about Watson. Give thehamish an extra hug. And, of course, a couple pieces of chicken.

    1. The new format has made it harder to find older post but I think I wrote 3 posts and the first one is Sunday September 6th 2015. A wonderful vet came to our home and freed him from his pain.
I still hear Watson in the home.

I am Roman Catholic but raised in a Polish neighborhood. In reality no difference from any other Roman Catholic Church.
Your family's Polish National Catholic Church is kind of an off shoot ? I think.
But who cares we all talk to our God in our own way.

  9. Fabulous views, I love watching the weather pass by from the warmth and shelter of my home. Harry doesn't mind what the weather is doing, he'll go out in anything.
Poor you and Hamish missing Watson, I hope the sadness passes soon enough, it takes a long time to get over and you never ever forget them. I lost my favourite cat Chilli this time last year and I'm still upset even as I type this.
    Brilliant cartoon.

  12. God bless, he thehamish! I've been showing your pictures to Mrs. Shady and she agrees with me that thehamish and Watson are the two most photogenic dogs we have ever seen. I only wish the they could still romp and play together. Seems nothing much pleases thehamish except getting fed some chikin. Cherish every moment with him. I'm sure you do, Gayle.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and God bless!

  14. It's wet, wet, wet here as well (SW France) and The Setter gets a filthy undercarrage and generally dislikes the subsequent clean up.
On a sartorial note, does thehamish wear his hearty red collar upside down as a deliberate statement? Lesley

    1. Son put the collar on thehamish. I never really know how to put the hearts on him.
I usually have the point pointing down. Is there a right way ?
