Happy New Year.
As you read on my last post this is the
Year Of The Monkey.
Remember wear a lot of red.
.
I found this postcard on my first trip to Japan many many many years ago at Christmas.
The next Zodiac year was the Monkey.
I found all sorts of postcards to send out New Year greeting,
with every type of artistic to funny monkeys.
Or you can print them up yourself.
Everyone sends New Year postcards wishes out to family and friends.
The post office is overwhelmed but gets out all the New Year Day cards on time.
I usually send out New Year Day postcards but this year I was just to ill and could not
design, print and send them out.

.
Unlike the many people who don't send cards any more in America.
I remember getting so many cards but it has dwindled to just a few.
Lots of valid reasons for many people not to send cards.
But just so many who are just too indifferent.
If it doesn't come on a smart phone why bother ?
Getting real mail is just so wonderful plus if there is a real letter in it even better.
....................
And just because I can here is your pretty for the start of the weekend.
Plus the first post of the New Year.

Happy new year! I love both e-cards and paper cards, but it sure is wonderful to get a card in mail box with hand writing :-) Your wall of cards looks beautiful! And the statue is very cute. thehamish and statue sitting together are so adorable :-) He looks very handsome and festive with the ribbon!
ReplyDeleteWe wish you and your loved ones a very happy & healthy new year xoxo
Oh I love e-cards ! I am just an old foggie and like Christmas, Birthday any holiday cards.
DeleteI love writing notes. But a real card can be held and looked at again and again. Plus it is so nice to have one peeking out from bills and junk mail.
Hamish looks quite dashing in his holiday best. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThe ribbon was because it is New Year Day.
DeletePlus he has finally gotten better and has stopped throwing up !
Yea me.
Parsnip, you're a good egg. Ham too. I don't know how you get him to pose. Mine drop and roll if I try to put anything on them. Unposeable apparently isn't a word, but that is what my weenies are. Happiest new year to you too.
ReplyDeletehahahahahaha.... the magic of Chicken strips.
DeleteI started early in his training but at any age chicken is magic.
Your card was BEAUTIFUL and I'm putting something together (but I'm undermined by the printer) to send your way. Love company, but hey - I gotta get back to my stuff, eh? Love ya, Gayle!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you !
DeleteI am happy that you liked the card... it is what I do.
Just an old card artist.
Wonderful photos of that gud dug. Up in Maine right now celebrating the new year but still will not miss one if your posts! So glad thehamish is feeling better. X
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in Maine celebrating the New Year.
DeleteHappy year of the monkey!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping a Tarzan would be here too ?
DeleteHi, Gayle!
ReplyDeleteI thought this is the year of the Dell rat! :) Your post made me smile at the beginning and laugh out loud at the end. I appreciated seeing the Japanese new year greeting card with its whimsical monkey. You're right. It is special when you receive an actual snail mail greeting, even more special if it is accompanied by a handwritten letter. He thehamish really does look like a statue of a gud dog waiting obediently for his chikin' - an incredibly handsome and noble animal he is. I love him!
Thank you for spreading new year cheer, dear Gayle, and thank you very much for your friendship and support as we continue on into 2016. God bless!
Can't wait to see what music will be popping up this year.
DeleteI miss getting real cards and letters too. Happy New Year, Gayle and Hamish!
ReplyDeleteI love sending postcards. send me your address and you never know what might be hiding in the mailbox.
DeleteVery happy and healthy new year to you Gayle and to the Hamish. And I do so agree about getting and sending cards. We loved yours by the way.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year (of the Monkey) Gayle!
ReplyDeleteHamish looks so cute! For him, EVERY year is Year of the Scottie.
Yes every year is gud dug Scottie.
DeleteI send out Christmas/holiday cards every year and my list seems to grow, maybe because of my guy's photos we always use on them.
ReplyDeleteThe statue is not nearly as handsome as the real Hamish is!
Happy New Year!
I don't have a company any more but I still send a few cards here and there.
DeleteHappy New Years to you and the Hamish.
ReplyDeleteHope your having a good start to the year. No flooding your way I hope.
DeleteHappy New Year to you and all at your home. And give thehamish some more chikkin', he's posed so well.
ReplyDeleteDiana
Happy New Year! Another year, another adventure. Trying to maintain my blogging - slagged off towards the end of 2015.
ReplyDeleteThe Hamish looking lovely and festive!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year - and I will try to wear a lot of red!

I adore sending and receiving real cards and picking them out is a highlight of my holidays every year.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and the Hamish in the new year!
Thanks for the happy music and the cute pictures of theHamish. I love the year of the monkey and will wear more red. Yes, it's too bad no one writes cards anymore. I used to do calligraphy and write or make cards too. Such a shame! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and all your loved ones Parsnip but most off all good healt and peace.
