parley view parsnip. . . what happened this weekend ?

What happened this weekend ?
Lots of lovely fireworks and RAIN !
.
Many have been saying the monsoons have started.
But for me it really doesn't officially start till some 20/30 year old "boy" decides to drive his truck into the flooded railway underpass at Stone Avenue, in the City of Tucson.
Then the fire department has to come out and rescue them.
There are signs all over saying do not enter when flooded. A measure painted on the wall.
But every year someone will assume the rules are not for them
and get stuck in the flooded underpass.
When the summer rains come down so fast in micro burst the water rushes down the streets into the washes then down to the rivers.
We had two swift water rescues this weekend and only have had two days of rain.
yert !
............

Yes, first day of rain !
.

.

 Saturday, second day of rain.
The rain poured down.
It was a fast moving storm with hail.
It lasted 30 minutes at my home as it moved west.
The temperature went from 95 to 77.
.

In the middle of the photo you can see the rain coming down on the right and left.
Before roaring by my home.
.
.
Not a very clear photo of thehamish after a game a fetch.
I had to take it quick.
He is holding a ball and his tongue is hanging out the side of his mouth
at at the same time.
I lurve this dog.
.
And here he is sleeping. . .
.
with the tip of of little pink tongue sticking out.
Cheeky little devil.
.

Oh the sweet baboo Watson is just waking up from a nap.
.
.......................

And just because I can, here is your pretty (hahahahaha)
to start the week.

  2. I have a very small grass area for the gud dugs.
And for ME ! In the hot summer months ti see any small green is just what I need, even though I I do live in a green desert.

  4. I will have to check on-line. Not kidding, every year there is always one nut-job who tries its.
I should post some of the rescues that cost the taxpayers money and if the drivers would just not try to drive through the rushing water.... "but I thought I could make it"
While I love to read the paper .... the paper deliver has to toss it up the hill where my home is because walking down the hill is just to hard for me. So I will keep checking on line.

  5. Well you did need the rain.

The Hamish is far too comfortable when he sleeps. And Watson must have been dreaming of chasing squirrels.

    1. It is that long build up leading to the right monsoon chemistry that is so unbearable.

  8. My gosh on the driving where they should not be driving. Where I live, in a snowbelt, sometimes trucks will drive crazy in the snow.

    1. If they would just drive down a block there is usually a street with a bridge.

    1. Monsoon rain comes down in sheets. You can stand on one side of the street and be in rain and just about step out of it and be dry on the other side of the street.
It come down fast and furious and leaves a trail of destruction.
The winter rains are softer and soak into the earth. We really didn't have any winter rains.

  10. Just been staying with Buster - an ancient Staffie and - like the boys he is showered with love. My DIL sleeps with him on a blow up mattress as he comes to the end of his life. He is not in pain and along with other things has dementia. Poor boy.
