Earthquake...

update.... Good News !

David, Yuko and Mia are fine ! So far from what I can tell on my map of Japan Extended Family are OK too.

Most of you know about the earthquake and tsunami that has hit Japan. My son and his family live near Osaka which is south on the main Island of Honshu. The center of the earthquake hit Sandai which is northeast of Tokyo.

The news coverage is heartbreaking.

Please check my sons blog on my side bar "sleepytako" for an update.

This was the first morning I slept in to 6:30 am and I awoke to such news... I can't get a phone call through but the e-mail is working .

Thank You all for thinking of my family, Gayle

  1. GREAT news! I was just telling my husband about your son living there and I would worry if you didn't post anything :) Will be praying for that part of the world all day.

  5. Thank goodness your Japanese family are ok. As I don't have a TV I've been looking at photographs of the damage on the internet and keeping updated with Twitter: it all looks and sounds so scary.

  6. My niece and her family also live near Osaka, but they are on high ground. That's the first think I did today - check Facebook, to see if they were OK.

Prayers for everyone in the area.

  8. Indeed, poor Japan!
Mme la Vache's son, brother and mother are in Japan. They are shaken, but OK.
