This is so weird... I have never seen any citrus tree with out leaves.
They have beautiful green leaves all year, sweet blooms perfume the
air in spring, the fruit grows in summer and we can't wait to start
eating in fall/winter.
The good news is we have found new green shoots already !
The Harlows Nursery people will be back in April to see how the trees
are doing, what branches need to be cut, and re-treatment of the fungus.
From left to right, Tangelo, Sweet Orange and behind the Birdhouse is
the Lemon.
The Grapefruit trees and Kumquat are out of photo to the right.

They are probably very hardy trees I expect - and they will no doubt benefit from this tender loving care.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have lived in Arizona for 44 years and I'm not sure I've ever seen them without leaves either. How glorious the smell must be there when they are in bloom. Orange blossoms are one of my most favorite smells, takes me right back to my childhood.
ReplyDeleteGreen shoots, hurrah! They certainly tidied up, those nursery folk, didn't they?
ReplyDeleteWow, the before and after are really different. I am with Eryl...hurrah for the new green shoots.
ReplyDeleteIt must be comforting to know they have been taken care of by experts. Such precious trees.
ReplyDeleteThank heaven for the green shoots - and your beautiful photographs.
